EDIT: nevermind apparently my other posts have not been read due to the repeating of everything I have already said and not yet performed. so here. IC Pipe Tester

If that was directed at me, I read all of your posts and thought they were the only ones that made sense. I simply expanded a bit on what you said about maintenance, and I didn't see that you had posted a BLT link (which was labeled as "IC pipe Tester"... my bad).

Anyway... theboss88... get that maintenance done, read, read some more, and be patient. It will pay off in the long run. Good luck ! :thumb:

Heres the Best part.. Change that Fuel Filter! I bet ya you will notice all kinds of improvements, in the engine runs..

You could also get really frisky and Have your injectors cleaned. Takes like 2 minutes to pop that rail off and get the injectors out..
Just beshure to buy new! Orings for top and bottom, before pulling them..
With as many miles you say the car has on it. I will promise you, that those Orings are hard as concrete and you have a boost leak at one or more injectors...

heres a engine pic
i noticed theres oil around the area of the timing belt on the block
and also underneath the car around the oil filter area

No, not at all, sorry if you took it that way. :thumb:It just gets frustrating when someone asks a question, you answer, and then they ask something else when chances are they didnt do the first thing you suggested yet. I apologize though as I know the thrill of buying a new car and having all types of questions to ask.

wow, its been a while since I saw an unmolested engine bay. I see you are from PA, and what looks to be the same problem my car had when I bought it, as well as the same remedy. When I bought it, the previous owner spray painted the strut towers to cover the rust. Mine was somewhat bad after I stripped the paint off to see underneath. You might want to do that, as well as take care of the little rust spots before winter hits here in PA.

well there is a intake on it now
but there is not rust really on the car
the strut towers are solid as a rock
the car was owned by a old guy that put alot of highways miles on it
then i bought the car off a guy who was getting ready to deploy to iraq and oly had the car for the summer and put like 2,000 miles on it

It's all good... I did repeat some of what you said, now that I read it again...but it was good info, so it's worth repeating :D

To the OP... I still don't think I'd put that 3" exhaust on until all the other maintenance stuff is done. Going to a bigger exhaust can potentially cause a few problems of it's own (like boost creep, depending on the circumstances), and may mask or complicate other issues you need to fix first.

its a 3 in cat back
i went over the car the po did alot of the stuff this year that u mentioned except for the two oil leaks that i mentioned
there is alot of recipets proving it
the stock exhaust is like rusted through around the muffler and the pipes and it sounds terrible so much drone

I agree. Do you have a true 3" exhaust that does not neck down at the flange? If so you will not be able to bolt it up to your stock downpipe which I am assuming you still have.

Bet ya 50cents that your oil leak is coming from the (as you already stated, Valve cover) And the lower Cam seals.
I know mine leaked BAD!

Grab some Berrymans B-12 from any auto parts store. Spray all that oil and grime off.. Then use simple green to clean anything left over... let the car idle for awhile, and you will find where that oil is leaking from.. B-12 Dries out everything it touches including stripping paint... So you will get to see nice and shiny oil running down the block.
Pop your upper timing belt cover off and look behind the exhaust gear for your leak.

well the exhaust is off ebay the po bought it but never installed it
and ill give the berryman thing a try
but i believe its also leaking around the oil filter the car is super low and i can really get underneath it
im gonna try to get some stock springs

yea i noticed when i was just driving on the highway that in 3rd - 5th gears that if i give the car full gas that it wont really go above 3-4k rpm and kinda just bogs

I as well as everyone else on this thread and the rest of the site can not stress enough that you HAVE to do a Boost Leak Test. Your problems are all boost leak related. And as far as putting 93 octane in, did you fill it up? You might still have some 87 in. I promise you that though somehow you dont feel a difference in putting 93 in, there is a difference. Your car will pull timing to compensate for the knock caused by the 87 gas. Your car loses both horsepower and fuel mileage. From now on, ONLY put 93 in.

yea well now the car has a mean misfire after replacing the top and bottom o rings
it just misfires and backfires like crazy
