gas pedal prob and one other

The pedal seems like it is very tight and requires alot of push, as soon as you push it it pops and revs up real high. This is a 90 GSX and I looked at the pedal and it has a sping pivot. I loobed it up but it made no difference. Could it be a line adjustment that needs to be made? I am lost on this one. It is either idle or WOT. I am not able to ease into it right now and it is pissing me off!
Problem 2: The oil filter adapter backed out on me going down the road. I know I tightened it up but it still backed out.Any clue?

-1. Is the throttle body/plate ok?

-2. Did you also torque down the oil cooler bolt? the pipe which your oil filter is screw on to, for safety, once everything is torque down, use a large hose clamp to secure a cable/wire on the oil filter then the other end to the block to keep the oil filter from coming loose. WARNING, don't over tighten the oil cooler bolt, doing so will damage the oil cooler.

Thanks for the reply everyone. I got both problems fixed.
1. the cable just needed to be adjusted.
2. I wasnt tightening the bolt for the oil cooler only hand tight and ...well. that obviously wasnt enough .
