My 97 talon AWD has a really high idle, that just kinda started all of the sudden... it seems that one day, the idle was high, at like 1500rpms, then, over the next few days it has progressed its way up to 2500rpms. My first guess was vacuumm leak. Well, i cant find one. i did find a vac line that had popped off. it goes to a little sylinoid on the firewall, behind the intake manifold. i plugged that back on, but it did nothing for the idle. i can turn the a/c on, and my idle drops a few hundred rpms, also, if i sit and let the car get kinda hot, like, above 235 degrees, then the idle will slowly fall back down to 2000 with the a/c off, and like 1500rpm with the a/c on... i dont get it.
Another thing, i have a datalogger, and an s-afcII, and no matter HOW MUCH FUEL i give it in the 3000-4000 range, the ECU will ALWAYS pull timing to like 0, and sometimes lower.. it hesitates at that rpm.

Ive heard of idle screws getting loose and kindof turning themselfsin. Try just turning the idle screw back out alittle till it idles were you want it. Then, put a dab of silcon on top of it so it doesnt move again. If it starts to rise again for no apparent reason then you know you have a different problem.
