Hey everyone!

Pulling the motor again and want to do the stroker build. Was looking at the Manley 2.3L stroker rotating assembly on Extreme psi. Was wanting to keep stock bore size at 85mm if all was good or I will have it bored for 85.5mm if needed. What I want help on is whether I should change my compression ratio to 10:1?

I am currently running a 16g turbo at 21psi, stock manifolds for now. Going to be fully rebuilding the head also.
 
Depends on a few things like fuel being run and use of the car. I run a Manley 100mm crank in my stroker and went with 8.5:1 Wisecos due to daily driving and lack of high octane fuel where I live. No E85 where I live only 91oct for me so I run meth.
 
Currently I run 91 with 550 injectors and unsure of the fuel pump I have but it' not stock. Getting bigger injectors because they need replacing now anyways. Gas stations by me have 100 that I could potentially get for the new tune and build and also have plenty of e85 stations by me
 
Dont run 10:1 unless you have E-85 or race gas for anytime you run it over 10psi, thats a generic answer but its sound advice trust me.
 
There are some threads about high compression pistons with pump gas but there are no exact answers since each car has different condition, setup and use of car. I was very curious before, so I decided to do it by myself to see how it works. Now my DD 2g 2.3 stroker has 10.5 static compression ratio with 92 pump gas for more than a year.
It is very depending on the setup and how you tune.
This is in my experience w/ 10.5CR. Up to 15 psi, it is ok with just retarding ignition timing. and I use 50/50 water methanol from 15 psi to higher. But I would go higher octane gas / e85 or lower the CR if the boost pressure frequently exceeds 18-20 psi range.
 
A 10:1 2.3 would make a killer street setup. But if you only have 91 octane available you will need to either fork out for the 100 octane or upgrade your fuel system for e85. Since you are upgrading anyway you need to decide what fuel you truly want to run. I'm not the greatest at tuning so I'll never go above 9.5:1.
