Stretched Kevlar Timing Belt - New Engine

So I just found out my kevlar belt is flapping in the wind, literally. I just built this engine, so the tensioner is new, however I recompressed it at least once if not twice because i redid the timing.

Anyone have experience with kevlar belts and stretching? Either they stretch or my tensioner is failing - which i doubt. Its from the dealer and I recompressed slow.

I am guessing the tensioner stretched the belt - heat and too much tension. I am going to play it safe and get a new tensioner and redo it. How do i ensure the tension setting is correct given I can alter the pully right by the tensioner?

and looking at the manual, the two holes should be at the 10-11. sorry bout that, been a while.

I would use an allen wrench, you need something that won't bend yet is small enough for the hole.

You think they would have thought of that first before using a pry bar, flag pins, ....and (holy mother of god) STICKS

the info I gave is for a 6 bolt 1g. I thought you had a 6 bolt.

The OP does not have a 1g.

The OP was advised to rotate the tensioner pulley from 6 o'clock to 12 o'clock in this thread. This is incorrect for his engine, so I just wanted to clarify.

Ah, gotcha. This is why I posted the 2g vfaq, I was just saying for future reference that it, in fact, changes between the two.

I know you had a 2g, I didn't read your profile, i just assumed it was a 6 bolt as most swap to that. Sorry, have you got fixed.

now on 6 bolt 1g's ive heard that the holes need to be at about 1-3 oclock, but that compressed my auto tensioner too much, BUT like spoolin said in the manual they look like they are at 10-11 oclock

No, as it's been said multiple times in this very thread, 1g is clockwise and will end up on the 9-10 o'clock side and 2g is counter-clockwise ending up on the other side, if that's how you want to look at it. You're not aiming to get it to a certain point, just turn it the right direction, tension the belt the proper amount and tighten it down, that's all there is to it.
