does anybody knows, what is that sound???? or where should i look for it??? i thought it was a tensioner pulley,i replaced new tensioner and idler pulleys, along with new auto tensioner and t-belt. my second thought was the lifters,so i bought a set od revised lifters, put them in,and yeaah, sound still there :((((

edit:
i read something about it on the forum, and some guys saying ,that the sparkplugs has to do something with that engine noise.as you can see in a video,i took the wire from num 4 cyl and no changes on the idle were made.....

here i updated video today, the sound comes ,as soon as i start my engine, and it doesn't go away no mater if i rev or not......

Sounds like a rod knock to me..... did you notice anything else strange that came along at the same time? (idle probs. clutch feel, belt squeeling etc.)

neaah, nutting, well idle went up a lilbit, before i was idling 850,now 900 close to 1k.all the belts are tight aether.before my clutch disk (ACT) was broken, the middle part snapped ,so it got separated.so after i put a new disk, drove like 50 miles ,and the noise from the engine starts... If the rod would be knocking,it wouldn't knock whole the time i think... I read, when the guys are having rod knock, the sound is comin out from the bottom of the engine, and mines is right on top near the valve cover

And if its a rod knock, how da hell did it happened??? i never been low on oil, never pushed the car really strong...

did you torque your flywheel bolts and use locktight on them?

I still have to lean toward the flywheel since that was the last thing you did only 50 miles ago and now its knocking. All I could recommend is pull the trans before you pull the motor. If i'm not mistaken I think the flywheel is 105-115 ft/lbs. there's only a few thing's that sound like that (rod, crank pully, stuck lifter, bad cam, flywheel) and you just messed with one of them. hope I helped :dsm:

you mentioned cams, when i changed the lifters,i noticed, that my cam journals and the cams are scratched really bad,the exhaust camshaft doesn't look so bad,but the intake one is kinda bad... could it be my prob??

Highly unlikley but possible. It's something you would have noticed already and got progressivly louder.

ok i noticed one thing about the lifters.i took all of them out,and like 5 lifters rod i could push down with my finger, and the rest of them were tight, couldn't even move the rod on a lifter,is that normal??

thats normal for your lifters, thats because some of the were discharged and some were charged with oil, don't worry about that they are ok. Sounds like a rod knock to me too. Rod knock are heard by the valve cover like if the sound was coming from there. anyways lifters wont make that sound and cams don't do it too.. think that you should drop the pan on the ground

Camshafts can knock, dont rule that out. But your lifters need to be pumped up. But if your cam bearings are scored, you have already found your problem.

ok i recorded my exhaust lifters and the intake cam and journals

the one you mess with from 1:32-1:28 should not be that loose it looked like you could just pull the rocker out of there by hand. That lifter is stuck take it out and soak it in some parts cleaner then try to free it up by bleeding it and see what comes out :thumb:

well while im at this point,im gonna take the oil pan off and see whats going on with my bearings.I don't feel like redoing timing again,so if ill be sure, that everything ok with my bearings,i move on toward the lifters

those camshaft bearings are not scored at all, they looks actually better than mine!!! your camshafts cannot be knocking that much with the internals looking like that. Drop the pan and look at your rod bearings like we've said you in the past

usually if your bearings are bad you will have sparkles in your oil and with a knock that loud you should be able to see it easy ,just drain your oil it is alot easier than taking the pan off .

well i looked at the dipstick, the oil was fresh,### i changed a day before,The car was sitting for two days,i popped the dipstick, and didnt see any metal shavings at the end of the dipstick, and what if i drain oil,and its gonna be fine??? then where i should look next??? i want to get info as much as possible, because tomorrow,is a big day to check up my car again ...

shavingmetal deposit are not gonna sticks to the dipstick, they will sit in the bottom of teh pan. remove the oil pan and the unscrew all the rod bearing caps one by one and look on the inside of the cap to see what the bearing look. if the are shot, you will see it easily.
