right now my setup consist of tubular exhaust mani big 16g hks ssqv bov and a supra side mount what do u guys think is a safe boost to run with the stock ic pipes and what would be a benifit of upgrading to hard pipes any comments critisism is wanted ill take it all haha thanks guys:thumb:

Not exactly sure how much boost you can get away with on stock pipes. Hard intercooler piping won't really give you any performance increase. The benefit of hard pipes is better/more fluent airflow, and you're able to run more boost on them. Don't really have to worry about them ripping/tearing. Also, you'll want to use T-bolt clamps on hard intercooler piping (hell, even on stock piping). Less chance of blowing a pipe off.

Any fuel mods? i would suggest not turning up the boost until you add fuel mods. I found that the hard piping automatically turned my boost up a little.

No benefit to hard pipes. Safe boost? As much as you can without getting knock. You've the fuel and the AFC, have at it... or do you? I don't see a fuel pump in your mod list. If no fuel pump, 15psi give or take, with a fuel pump, go for it.

You'll want a front mount though. Don't waste your time with hard pipes. Some people say stick with the side mount, but with ebay IC's so cheap, go for it.

Run wastegate pressure for now till you get fuel upgrades. Then worry about upping the boost. Make sure you do this safely, i hope you have a good hed gasket and head studs if you are planning to go high, better safe than sorry, right ?
And as stated above hard intercooler pipes provide smoother airflow and don't inflate when boosting higher than stock boost levels as the stock rubber pipes would, increasing the chance for a boost leak.

Well free can't complain then. Make sure to get that fmic before running high boost levels. You don't want to have knock and high intake temps i'm sure.

well i was only planning to run about 12psi or so is that to much for my setup or is that a good amount i dont need my boost to be anything redic its my dd so just somethin quick to get me around town

12 psi is fine for daily driving, and your 190 would be more than enough at this point. You don't even need a fmic with this boost level, but it's awlays good to have it for extra insurance.

Okay Hard pipes wont expand under boost pressure. thats on positive. Two that big 16g will flow more air than the 14b at 12 psi so I would leave it at that until you have someway to read knock.

I was stupid with my first talon and had a 16g no fuel mods and hard pipes on a stock side mount and ran 17 psi on the track with race fuel.

I melted a piston cause of it.

I would run wastegate pressure until you have some way to read knock. Get a wideband and something better than the SAFC. Your going to have a hard time controlling those 750's with that. I say DSMlink.

i think im gonna be pickin up a dsm link soon from a friend of mine for about 450 and idk if i wanna go with a fmic yet casue i like the sleeper look of my talon now =)

Trust me! If you read thru my posts I was in the same boat as you. But to go faster you need it. Makes it easier to tune. Im going to paint mine so it looks like a radiator.

Its hard to be a sleeper when you can hear the car from 2 blocks away and the turbo from 100 feet

A 16g at 12psi won't even be in the turbo's efficiency range. Melting a piston at 17psi is very unheard of, not saying it can't happen, but it is far more rare than getting crankwalk. You would really need something wrong in your fuel system/tuning system for that to happen. And like stated above, it will be very very hard to control those injectors, if you can't afford dsmlink look into a eprom chip. I would turn the boost up to at least 16psi.

so if i run like 15 16psi and get the dsm link ill be fine with the supra side mount and the stock ic pipes? i mean if i have to upgrade to hard pipes i will but if i dont have to im not going to i know ill get better air flow and all that but id like to stay with the stock ic pipes

You are not going to be able to control 720cc injectors with just the SAFC, especially with the aggressive 1g timing maps.

With my Spyder, I saw a significant increase in airflow just from replacing the UICP but my mods were a little different than yours. Check out my review if you want some more information.

this was mainly to heatsoaking the stock intercooler.
