I am needing an uicp but I dont want to spend $200 (again) on one. I would like to custom make them because I am wanting to do this as cheap as possible without taking any shortcuts in making them. I plan on getting mandrel bent piping, silicon couplers and t bolt clamps because I want this done right. My question is what are all the bends that I need to buy. This is for the stock smic. I have looked at the aluminum piping on ebay wich looks pretty nice especially for $100, but Im unsure if I should go with this or some mild steel bends. Also I need to get a weld on hks flange if I use the steel tubing or the cast aluminum one on ebay if I use the aluminum piping. What would be the best way to go? Does anyone have pics of thier custom setups that I could use to get some ideas from?

If this is to your stock smic the your best bet is to just pull off your UCIP that you have on now and follow its pattern. If you planned on getting mandrel bent pipes like you said it would just be one long pipe anyways so you wouldn't have to worry about the bends of other pipes. As for the one on ebay, it depends on how much you can get madrel bent piping for. Either way you get the flange welded on by your local muffler shop. I'm sure they'll both work either way so i'd so go with the one that saves you the most money.

I had a custom upper intcooler pipe made for me with the 1g flange at the local exhaust shop here. Cost me $85. It worked for my T-25. But when I went to the Evo III 16-g ported, it started leaking at the welds like crazy. So less than 7 months later I bought the Dejon Tool Upper Intercooler pipe and it works awesome. I think it cost me $99. www.dejontool.com . You can choose the color you want the flange you want.

Ok well not to thread jack but i have a FMIC on a 2g non turbo with a turbo specialties/star performance turbo kit and someone stole my intercooler piping while my car was in the shop. Does anyone have any clue about the bends or do i need to bring this to a muffler shop or something similar? I just want to get it done quick, and correctly.

by the way i need all the piping. All from the turbo to the intercooler, and from the intercooler back to the intake manifold. Someone took every last piece of it.

If it was stolen at the shop and you can prove it. Then the shop will have to pay for all the new piping. They should have insurance that covers mechanical parts being stolen while the shop was in charge of the car. They can say they don't, but they should have it written in their insurance policy. Find out and then buy some nice pipes with it instead of going the cheap route.

I have an EIII 16G so I guess no muffler shop stuff. I probobly wouldnt do that anyways since it would be press bent tubing. I already have a Dejon uicp that I paid $200 for. It is for the blow thru setup. I am getting rid of my blow thru setup and since Ive hated these pipes from day 1 I am definitely getting rid of them. Also the pipe for $99 you are talking about is just half of the uicp system, the other pipe that bolts to the manifold is $85. I am not spending $200 more dollars on just bent tubing, and radiator hose couplings.

Or you can just purchase one of those cheap $130 uicp+licp ebay kits. I'm running one currently and it works great.

Is it an actual kit specifically for our cars or is one of those universal deals. Do you have any pics of it on your car? What kind is it, or what vendor did you buy it from. Im just trying to figure out what to search for because all I have found is those universal kits. Also did it come with a bov flange or did you have to buy one seperate and weld it on.
