Ok.. im just at witts end with this car sometimes. I just spent over 3grand on getting the engine rebuilt and put back in the car. and it is still leaking oil. I don't know why it is leaking now.. So im thinking that is is leaking from the head gasket again but im not sure. you can look at my mods and give me your opinion. Im going to put some of that lucas oil stabilizer in the car tomorrow to see if that will stop the leaking.

Put it up on jackstands and put a tiny load on it? Ha. not to safe though.

Have you checked the oil feed for the turbo? The gasket on the pan for the return? Its weird because you say it only happens under load, so it has to do with something in the oil system that is under pressure. Check around were you filter goes, make sure its tight. It might all look like its at the back of the engine/bay, because your driving and the wind might be sending it flying back.

You should really get a pic of were the oil is.

The leak is comming from one of 3 seals. Check the Crank seal, oil pump seal, and balance shaft seal or the gasket behind the cover. All of them sit in the front cover and if they are incorrectly installed they leak under load when there is higher oil pressure. It's also possible the shop was cheap and didn't even replace them. Goodluck

you should try the oil leak dye with a black light works wonders. helped me big time. check oil pan like black 92 tsi suggested

I vote for using oil dye. Put it in, let the car idle to stir it up. Jack up the front-left of the car and look for dye. If you don't see any, let it idle for longer and look for dye. If that doesn't work, then let it sit overnight and look for dye in the morning. If that doesn't work, rev the car in neutral to build oil pressure then shut it down and look for dye. Don't rev it very long or you may spray dye everywhere and camoflauge the leak. Rev a bit, go look, rev a bit longer, go look. Try to catch it when it's just leaked a bit. Something like that anyway.;)

Ok the leak has been fixed! I took it back to the shop and had them do it since i did pay them and all. They told me that the machine shop didn't put a small bolt/screw on the block. He also said that it was very hard for him to find cause of where it was. But i drove it and there is no smoke and no oil dripping so Im happy now.
