Still Leaking?

So after leaking oil on a daily basis with the car running i finally decided to try to fix the leak. After i determined it was coming from the oil pan/ lower timing cover area i spent the day stripping off the timing belt and replaced the crank seal and though that was the leak source only to start the car(after reassembling) and to see the same leak dripping down> is the only other place this oil can be coming from the oil pump seal or is there anywhere else this can be coming from? thanks

do you still have your balance shafts? it could be coming from your main seal the one around your crankshaft. the front case where your oil pump bolts to the block or from the oil filter housing where it connects to the oil pump.

Bust out some brake cleaner and git rid of all the old oil that's accumulated in the area of the leak and then run the car to see if you can pinpoint the area of the leak better. If you still can't spot it you can pick up a U/V dye kit from Autozone that will help you find the leak. That way you aren't tearing down and replacing parts that don't need it.

What i always do is take the timing cover off and run the car with only the timing/balance belts with no accessory belts..

Make sure to brake clean off the entire area and that way you'll be able to pinpoint where exactly the leak is coming from..

Just make sure not to let the car run too long since there will be no waterpump/alt belt
