i have a small hole in my oil line running from the filter housin to the oil cooler.. it's a small hole so with the pressure being pumped out from the housing it shoots like a super soaker... i tried slabbing some jb weld on it but it still drips when i start the car... no squirting though... i couldn't really clean all hte oil off the line seein how it was a continuous drip... could that be the problem... could i fix this by just tryin to slab more jb weld on it real thick or what? help would be much appreciated... i wanna try to fix it without takin the line off... cause my other option would be to hack the line and reconnect it with hose and hose clamps... but if anyone has any imput....

Try some different compounds other than JB Weld. JB is a good adhesive but a poor sealant due to its high modulus and low elongation. Try "Automotive Goop" or other "Goop" products. Great adhesion, strength, and will act as a better sealant. Maybe a layered combination.

Personally I would seriously think about getting a new line...my 2c

hit up a junkyard for a new line..its easy to chance, i went through 2 on mine (i forgot to undo the lines before pulling the motor) :shhh:

jb weld can hold 4000psi and 600 degrees drain the oil out of the car and line clean the surface thourghly and apply. It may turn out better if you can take the line out completely, but I know for a fact that the oil in that line isnt over 600degrees and pushing more then 4000 psi of pressure. The only other thing I could tell you is that maybe you mixed it wrong.

yeah i will get a new line... but for now i am goin on vacation this friday and i just need a quick fix so i can drive my car from md to ny securely... then once i'm up there i'm gonna hit up the mitsu graveyard... i just need a quick fix, i'm gonna see if just cake the jb on there works better, cause i jsut put a ok amount on the hole and the immediate areas around it... gonna try to wrap it around the line and run an inch - and inch and half in either direction of the hole... any other ideas, jsut quick fixes

actually what would work better is put the jb weld on reeeeal heavy..then put a big heat shrink over the jb-weld. youll prolly have to undo the line to get the heat shrink on, but i bet that wont leak a fkn drop.

its actually used more for insulating electrical application. go to an electric parts store and get a piece a little bigger than the diameter of the line. after u jb weld it..slip the heat shrink over the line and over the jb weld, then heat it up with a lighter and it will shrink down tight against the line

Temporary ghetto fix but it will work. Clean the line as best you can and then wrap duct tape around the hole, liberally apply JB weld to the duct tape and surroundin pipe surface making a seal. It won't hold forever but it should get you where you are going.
