So under normal acceleration there's no smoke, under boost there's a darker color smoke I'm assuming because I'm running a little rich only have a flash tune for now, and under deceleration or engine breaking there is white smoke. The motor is still pretty young at only 550 miles give or take I can't imagine it's anything internal, possible turbo seals? turbo was used but has minimal shaft play if any. Any input would be great! Thanks guys!!

no there's no smoke at start up. but if it sits and idles for a bit it will smoke but sometimes it won't. If I shift from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd there is a little puff of smoke between shifts under normal acceleration but that's it

Do you notice a loss of coolant or oil? I would start by smelling the smoke to see if its
oil or antifreeze

smoke smells like oil... when I pulled the plugs the #1 cyl seemed to have a little oil on it... I will be free this weekend so whatever advice I get I will look into this weekend such as pulling the exhaust manifold off ect.

Yank off your exhaust manifold and take a peek into the ports. Wet ports = valve stem seals.

I would start with a compression test. It is easier and quicker than a compression test.

That should help you narrow down where the problem is coming from.

Then I would do a leak down test if you find low compression to find out where you are losing compression.

I have done a compressin test a few weeks ago and the number were from 137-146 so I retorqued the head but have not done another compression test yet. I will do one and let you guys kno the numbers from the first test a few weeks ago and the test I performe this week. I do not have a leak down tester though. Thanks again guys!

What was the compression in each individual cylinder?

Was cylinder one low, with the oilly spark plug?

How many miles on the turbo?

Compression on each cylinder from left to right was
cyl 1. 137 (lowest number with oil on plug)
cyl 2. 146
cyl 3. 140
cyl 4. 140

not sure of mileage on turbo

at fresh build the compression was 170 across the board

If you were at 170 psi when the engine was first installed, then dropped into the 140ish range.

Compression should go up as the ring seats, not down.

Sounds like the rings may have been chewed up from an improper cylinder bore finish.

You really need to do a leak down test to confirm.

Do you have the magnet on the oil drain plug? If yes, has it been "hairy" when it was removed at the last oil change?

I know about the number going up that's why I'm trying to figure out the smoking issue and the reason I retorqued the head. I'm going to check torque one more time and do another compression test for sure. And the oil plug is not a magnetic one but I am going to get a new one next change because the present one is now leaking.
