starting problem

my car has 81k dont really drive it to much maybe once a week smetimes less and when i try to start the car turn the key when turn t sounds normal then had a loud shriking noise then the car starts i was looking under the hood and started to accelerate and it like wantes to turn off for like half a second then gose norma the check engen light whent on the other day while driving dont know whats the problem any help?

i disconnected the batter calbe to take the check engine light of and been driving it more and hasent come back an the problem is still there but only if i like dont drive it in one or two day only the first time it starts and if i turn it on again the same day it normal

Sounds like a cold start issue, my guess would be coolant temperature sensor. Could also have something to do with fuel, but here are a couple threads that should help put you on the right track.

As far as the shrieking problem goes, I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say loose belt, so I'd check those as well.

Hmm please check your spelling and grammar, you don't want to hear this from an admin! Trust me
Also please be more descriptive... So you say you have a CEL and don't know what it is, plus the car is stalling! Am i right?
So first things first don't cancel a code just like that it doesn't take more than 5 mins to pull a code with a scanner post the code here... Probably the car runs good with the CEL because it goes into limp mode... Good luck

well it sounds right when it starts and you put into gear it shricks one of belt a bit but i tighten them a while ago

I had a similar problem earlier + I was in limp mode. I was able to temporarily "fix" it with a grounding kit . If you end up with that code, it's worth a shot. I had a hard time tracking the problem down

I'm going to assume that you are using an old-school (but incorrect) label for the FIAV and move on with life. How that might produce a shriek is beyond me.

OP - your description sounds like a shrieking belt to me. But I agree with others that it's not a great description. And I'm not sure if we're helping with the stalling, the CEL, or the shriek.

Well let me try again and explain everything. When you put the key in to start the car and then turn the key. It starts but has a loud shrinking noise for half a second and then it get really loud then starts normal. Everything sound normal just when I opened the hood and put some gas to it. I put a little and it stalls and wants to turn off for a moment then goes back to normal. I will try to tighten all of the belts today because a while ago it was shrinking the same way and when I put in to gear and put gas started shrinking loud for a moment then stopped. thanks for all the help my bad about the spelling and grammar

Could possibly be a boost or vacuum leak, couldn't hurt to test for either of them. As far as the shrieking, I'm almost positive it isn't related, just a loose belt.

i just had a vacuum leak test not to long ago and had a valve cracked will do some reaserch about boost leak test

To me, it sounds like a loose belt for the sounding thing and a boost leak for the want to stall.

Just a Note, next time you get a cel, don't erase it, you can spend days or weeks looking for the problems which with the code, you will kno exactly what's going on.

As much as I hate "+1" posts, I agree. You have two problems: a loose or aging belt and a bad idle.

The idle was moved because when I did the vacuum test and found the bad valve this plastic thing. I don't know the name of it but I know it goes on top of the gas tank. But the rpm were going up and down every stop and wouldn't stop till I put it in gear. This guy I know put the rpm down because they use to be really high up.
