hey anyone know where i can disconnect the thing to start the car without using the clutch. i have a automatic starter for my car but it wont work unless i disconnect that! someone let me know in detail please! later

Look underneath the clutch petal. Towards the top there is a switch that is depressed when the petal is depressed. Follow the wire that comes out the top of that and unhook it at the connection. Just remember to always leave it in neutral...my friend did that with his civic and left it in gear in his garage and took out a wall.

just to make sure, everyone knows its illegal to put a remote starter on a manual car right??? :thumbdown

Its kinda like the law that you can't drive barefoot...nobody is gonna come after you about it unless your stupid with it. If you leave your car in 1st and you push the remote start button and you run into something, it is your fault. I didn't know there was a law about it, but I see the logic behind it. Just be smart with it.

Find that law for me.

Meanwhile, the clutch safety switch connector is just about straight up from the clutch lever, on the back of the pedal pivot hagar. Just unplug it.

If you're stupid like me, you can spend three months trying to reach the connector on the switch itself, which is 'way up past the front of the pedal lever. And, no one can. I don't think a spider monkey could.

i found what i think is the right thing to disconnect. its at the very top of the clutch pedal its white with two wires coming out of it. two small wires. that looked to be the only thing that looked like i could disconnect up there for the clutch. but still it didnt start with just the key. somethings wrong>>>>>>

yeah, how many smart people are there in this country? the law is in place to protect shops too. think about the drive on lifts. car goes in the air, car accidently gets started while in gear, and bam. F'd car, injured or killed people, and damage to the shop... ever wonder why they have like 2 pages of "we're not responsible for anything" babble in all of their paperwork?

weird. Mine has always started with just the key since the day i got it. I guess the owner before me already disconnected it.
