Looked at this and this and I think I have covered everything there.

Exact description is that she wouldn't start a few days ago and I took out the battery and fiddled with and clean the connections on the two sets of clips to the starter (black/yellow wires?) and after I put it back in she started up (with trouble). Quit on me today at a gas station and tried to replicate what I did to no avail.

Had to pop start it with my buddy. Any there suggestions? Is it just a solenoid issue and I need to either clean it or get a new one?

I don't know about the starters on the 4g63 but I had the same issue when I had my N/A and all it turned out to be was a short. So check all your wires for damage and go from there. Good luck.

Yeah I think I'm gonna have to take a voltage meter to it. I hate electronics. Anyone else care to impart some wisdom?

Does it just click when you turn the key mines having the same issue jus keep clicking it until it starts

No, there is no sound. I think I can hear something from under the hood, but I'm not sure. Last time I checked with my father there was no sound.

Update: There is one click when the sound deck goes off and on but other than that, no.

I had this same problem with my GST, the starter would only work sometimes, out in a new starter haven't had a problem since

Next time it happens, have a long extension rod and a hammer/mallet on hand, tap the starter a few times; if it starts, replace your starter. Had mine go out on me not too long ago, but at least it is an easy fix. If it doesn't solve your issue, then as previously stated: check your grounds.

I had the same problem. Well, actually, it's still there, but I "fixed" it by putting in a pushbutton starter. I'm sure it's a bad connection somewhere up in the dash (replaced starter, starter relay, ignition switch, checked grounds, fuses, fusible links, etc.) which only seemed to work temporarily.

you most likely have a bad starter, take it out and bring it to an auto parts store and have them test it for free, if it's fried they should have a replacement on the shelf for you, or if you don't trust after-market parts store products, you can ship it to a reputable parts house that can have it rebuilt for you here in the states, hope this helps.

I'm fortunate to have a shop in my town that has knowledgeable techs, that know how to rebuild starters.
the guy I know used to work for the starters and alternators super store, he now works at Turlock autoparts [aka carquest] he still rebuilds starters there and he does good work too:thumb:.

also did you make sure your motor can be rotated by hand without the spark plugs installed?
