The car was runnning really good a few days ago,,,but twice about ten minutes apart the car just up and shut off (everything turned off) luckily I was going down a hill both times pushed the clutch in, popped it started right back up and drove home.
I go out to the garage a couple days later start the car drive off get about a mile or so up the road and it just boggs down. I floor it and it just stays bogged down wont drive worth crap. Turned the car off let it sit for a few turn it back on and runs fine so I start home get in the drive way it does it again this time it had to sit for about 5 minutes before I could start it back up and pulled it in the garage. Left it sit over night
I go back the next day car just turned over and over. Finally it started idled around 500 for a second shut off, did this for a couple minutes same result everytime.
I head back out later on and try to start again and now it just turns over and doesn't do anything just cranks, sounds like it wants to start but nothing.

I have changed spark plugs and have the same result.(when I pulled out the old all had fuel on them) Have looked at my intercooler pipe to make sure it was all on(can't do a boost leak test where i am at, b/c i cant drive it to the air compressor). Any help to my problem? Would like to drive it this summer :(
or suggestions to start looking or testing ceritan items?

same thing happened to me a few years ago... driving along and pooff! everything died...gauges, spedometer...everything. Turned out to be the ECU. That would be my guess.
I would say check your timing belt for jumping but your intervals are too high for that to be it. Timing belt jumping would be more of a constant problem.

Well I went over to the car yesterday after reading defiants post. hooked my battery back up after being disconnected for a week and it started right up first try although it had some hesitation if i revved it(when i revved it up white smoke came barreling out of the exhaust). none the less it got up to operating temp. i turned it off backed my truck out of the way went to go start it again, and back to square one.

I have an extra ECU laying around actually so i will go and give that a shot. Thanks for the help so far

Now i did check my cams and they still lined up, but forgot to check the bottom part of the motor to make sure was still in time

My friend suggested that perhaps either the cam angle sensor, or crank angle sensor may be bad as one of them is magnetic some how? Would it be worth trying to do the CAS swap from the 1gb heads and getting the plug and play harness from RRE if trying out the new ECU doenst work? i have the 1gb cas already so i would just be purchasing the harness. any thoughts?

I agree happened to me back in Feb. My ECU actually blew over time I think, it messed up while driving I turned he car off, and had to keep my foot on the gas the whole way home(or it would stall). Then the next day it would just sit there and crank forever, opened up center console and could smell the burn before I even opened the ECU.

Well after no further probelm daignoses or trying to solve this, i walked out in the garage today started the car again....let it get up to temp. turned it off, moved my truck and it started back up and have been driving it all day! i do got a evap and egr CEL on which i knew of, but also the waste gate solenoid and something to do with fuel pressure codes were were p1104, and p1105.........any clue to why iss solved itself
