Ok I'm thinking about getting this a SSAC FMIC kit form this site for $245, what do you guys think? Does it look like its missing anything? What do you think of the kit? Does it look like it comes with a 1g flange or a greddy flange? Most important question is do I need anything in addition to this kit? Any additional piping or anything? Anyone have any detailed install instructions on how to do this? How difficult and time consuming is it to install a FMIC?

F.M.I.C Kits Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc.

Thanks. Those instructions should come in very handy. Another question. Since I haven't installed a FMIC before just looking at that pic from my first post on the 2g dsm kit does it look like it comes with all the parts I need. I read somewhere that I might need EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Extreme PSI 16G Install Kit : Mitsubishi Eclipse 95-99 some people say yes and other say no. Currently I have a stock setup with a 14b but will be upgrading to atleat a 16g soon. I figure I need to upgrade to a cone filter, that's no big but will I also need the kit or something similar to the extreme psi when I only have a 14b right now? How time consuming is it to install the FMIC, do most people accomplish it in about a day?

Lastly on the site you mentioned they talk about
Megan FMIC,
No name brand but has the standard psi and efficiency spill
Street Imports FMIC
XOXO Core but has good feedback on the core

What do you think about SSAC? How is it as a company any complaints?

Damn links wont open! But if the kit is the intercooler with a mounting bar on each side and the short route piping then i can tell you a little about it. The flange is probably for a 1g BOV, which if you have a greddy u can either take that flange off and weld another one on( it's aluminium so it needs tig welded) or you can just drill and tap that flange for the greddy there is enough room! If you dont have a aftermarket j pipe then you are going to need one, and no the kit does not come with that. You can buy t hese off ebay for 50 bucks. One problem i also had was that the lower pipe was too long, and you can't just cut it becuase it has a nipple on the end of it. I cut mind in the middle and then welded it shorter. The kit comes iwth a 2 inch elbow i couldn't use it with a 16g and j pipe. It was too long and just didn't work out, so i bought a silicone 2 inch elbow. Other then that the kit is very nice and good construction! The couplers are high quality, i think 3ply. The t-clamps are strong and wont break. I like my kit and i like the fit. As far as intercoolers go it was pretty easy to put on. If i only wanted to spend 300 bucks i would buy this kit again. Although, if i had my choice and money didn't matter then i would of bought a dejon powerhous kit, they are very nice and have alot of options! hope i helped you out!

The install kit is for the turbo. The SSAC includes a pipe for down flowing turbos like the FP Green, 50 trim, etc. You'll need a J pipe (which you should have on your 14b). I don't see why you need to upgrade to a cone filter, it doesn't make any difference and you don't "need" it for the FMIC.

As for how time consuming it is - with a dremel and rented tools from Home depot, it took me about 8 hours after taking multiple breaks during the day. I also installed an aftermarket power steering cooler, so that took some time too.

P.s. Read the ENTIRE thread on the SSAC FMIC linked in post #2. It will answer all your questions.

So the J pipe I have on my 14b will work fine and I don't need to get another one?
Is their a FMIC kit I can get that just bolts up with no cutting of the frame required?

For that you'd have to go with a long route piping kit (which the SSAC is a short route kit). There are various vendors and companies that make them.

Here's one for example:
ETS (95-99) 2G DSM Eclipse/Talon 7" Street Intercooler Kit [ 2GDSM_ST ]

That one comes with a j pipe as well, so you wouldn't need one. It is the pipe closest to the bottom of the picture.

Just get a elbow from a muffler to connect your j pipe to the lower pipe from the fmic kit you're getting or get a silicone elbow coupler.

just so you know they are out of stock right now LOL, i bought mine a month ago, but my friend was going to buy one by they are out of stock now LOL

That looks like a really nice kit. But they are over double what F.M.I.C Kits Performance Racing Products for International Sales from SSAutochrome Inc. (priced at 300 shipped) is asking for their, is it really worth it? Also what is the major advantage of a short route kit as oppose to the long route kit? I think if I didn't have to cut any of the chassis I would prefer the long route kit. Is it a much simpler install with a long route kit? Is their any other long route kits, that are known good kits in the same price range of the SS Auto Chrome, or is that just me day dreaming?

The big difference between the SSAC kit and ETS's long route kit is the cost. ETS also has a new short route kit out now, which requires you to cut. You will NOT be cutting into the chassis. You are going to be cutting into part of the radiator support frame. I cut mine with a circular disc from home depot, an adapter and my 18v cordless drill. It took about 2 hours, but I got the job done. And no, there aren't any known good kits in the same price range as the SSAC.

I have the SSAC kit and i love it. Its not to bad to put on either. Took me about 4 or 5 hours. You will need to but a couple t-bolt clamps and couplers. I dont remeber what size they were. But they talk about them in the other post if you read over them. And i seen that someone posted that the place you were goign to be ordering from had them on backorder. Well i got mine from a guy here off these forums that deal with SSAC directly so if you want to contact him he can le you know if he can get it quicker. I had mine in like 3 days. His user name is 2gAWDTalon

I bought my kit for 280.00 shipped. The links above are very helpful. It's not that hard to install but it does take some time the hardest thing is routing the pipes. I needed to modify my pipes some because my j pipe sucks and i was hitting the lower motor mount. Did anybody have a problem with there external dump o2 housing. I cut mine so the pipe would fit but it pretty much dumps right on the pipe now? I'm thinking of getting the internal dump.

Wrap your lower intercooler pipe with heat wrap or get a muffler extention, clamp it on the o2 dump, and route it out of the way.
