I have a 97 TSI AWD and I'm having so many problems with connecting it from my j pipe to my piping for the fmic. I've used alot of Rigged type of manisfestations and its just been blowing off my Piping and junk.

What is everyone else doing to connect their 16g's to their SSAC FMIC? Pics would be amazing..Or even part numbers for radiator hose or any type of hose you use..

Yea, I have the SBR FMIC J Pipe and I also cut a 90 but it dosn't work that great...Anyone have some pics or something?

Hey I have the same setup. You have to make the lower intercooler piping custom. It doesnt work at all with the pipes they send you. I bought a 90 coupler and a pipe shaped like a J with a vacuum line on it and I little piece of straight pipe. Of course you need the SBR J Pipe as stated above. Here are some pics.

You will probably need to upgrade to slim fans. Also recirc. your BOV.

What about the Curved elbow that gose into the TB? It seems that its impossible to get that lower right screw into it. When its in the way. Do you just use a stud? Also dose the surface have tobe machined. on dsmtalk they were talking about it needs to be re-machined, the surface that is.

It is possible to get on but you have to use a small wrench or modify a wrench to open it up a bit I think. If you look at the last page of the ebay FMIC 'bible' thread, it's on there. But here's the link to save you a few seconds:

Mangina24 and housegsx mention how they did it.

And also on that page it says about getting the flange to the tb resurfaced. I am going to bring mine in to get resurfaced because I can see it's not perfectly flat.

I have no idea. That is where the BOV sits with this style of intercooler.

Yeah but you still should recirculate it though.

I was told you dont need to recirculate your BOV if you have some sort of aftermarket tuning device. I am running dsmlink and the logger hasnt shown any negative results? I like that first one though.

You cant tune out the rich condition that happens when you shift with a unrecirculated BOV now matter what tunning device you use. This only applies if you are running a draw through style MAS (IE: 1G, 2G, EVO MAS). If you run a GM MAS and the Translator in blow through mode you dont have to recirculate.
