So I just had all of my belts replaced and they are squeaking even more than before what should I do??? Tighten them?

try tightening them. most people that have discussed this on other threads say tighten them. i would say if they are as tight as you think they should be then there may be something on the pulleys. i would pull them off and clean them with a wire brush. if you have access to a sandblaster they do wanders on pulleys.

as of now, twist the belt, it they turn 90 degrees 1 way then they are tight enough, if they go much further then there to loose, so tighten to what I said before, if they do not go the 90 degrees either direction then they may be to tight and they need to be loosened, after loosened and they still make noice then I would check idler pulleys, etc.

They appear to be tight enough yet I sprayed belt conditioner on the belts and the noise went away but these are new belts?? Why did that happen

Tighten them up. They are new belts. When I did me altanator belt it squeeled a bit then tighten it up. Drove a couple days squeeked again and retighten. Belts are new and once you warm them up or put lil wear on it they expand so always good to tighten them up. You spraid belt dresser that puts like a little film on the belt on the little gap belt is not contacting. Tighten it up a b:banghead:it and see if it goes away. Note. Adress the belt that is squeeling. Spray the each belt the one that makes the squeek go away is the only one to adress.
