i was looking at a 91 talon tsi awd he said the only thing he did with the car was put a bigger turbo in (dont know what kind just a bigger one) and he said all needs is a fuel regulator........because he says when he gets to high rpms the car sputters and it need more fuel i was jw what the truth is behind that before i buy the car

1 - I would do a boost leak test b/c if you have a bad enough boost leak it could cause your problem.

2 -

3 - High NOx emissions is created when the cylinder temperatures exceed 2500 degrees Fahrenheit so that would lead me to believe that in fact you are having a lean issue and not a boost leak. The 16 has a higher CFM capability over a stock 14b so you are probably having Lean misfires. Check the spark plugs and see what condition they are in and look into re-wiring the factory fuel pump.

This is the link that will show you how to re-wire your fuel pump. :hellyeah:

2G DSM FWD Fuel Pump Rewire Instructions

I would also get a boost gauge and a MBC so that way you know what boost that 16g is running.

thanks i just toook a run in my car up and down the block a couple times and the temp. is up... i dont know about a lean miss fire but i do have a miss fire because i can hear that and im oretty sure it was to do with one plug.......are all MBC the same like i dont want to say but ebay ones will they work the same compared to name brand

and i have 560cc injectors and a 225 or 255 walbro pump can i just put those in now to match the turbo or should i wait till i can tune it?

and that rewrie like is that the same for the 1g tsi awd

oh yea forgot you have a one 1g sorry here is the link for that.

Here is the link on how to install the wally fuel pump. Find out which fuel pump it is and I would go ahead and install the injectors and fuel pump b/c you won't have to turn the pressure up or anything if you keep the boost at a reasonable level.

You could use one. I'm sure that it would be way more accurate than the stock, but look into a ball and spring style MBC and this link will show you how to hook it up.

You can tee off from the line to your bov like in this link but the best way is to tape the compressor housing on the turbo if it isn't already.

thanks man but with the MBC that i have seen you cant tell what your turning the boost to so how would you know

Adust knob, test drive, watch boost guage, and repeat if needed until desired boost level is achieved.;)

makes seance i saw the vfaq for the fuel pump and it had more wires heres a picture of what i have let me know if it will still work
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/50529416@N08/5534861551/" title="IMG00075-20110316-1111.jpg by letsgetwasted, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5097/5534861551_6662c8e776.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="IMG00075-20110316-1111.jpg" /></a>

this is why theres a missfire right <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/50529416@N08/5534868311/" title="IMG00082-20110317-1412.jpg by letsgetwasted, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5174/5534868311_3693fea0e1.jpg" width="500" height="375" alt="IMG00082-20110317-1412.jpg" /></a> the plug is shot and that could be why there was a high NOx

That looks ok.:hmm: Are you talking about the fuel pump rewire? If so that will include some more wiring and a relay to help keep the voltage from dropping on the long stock power wire to the pump.

no thats the walbro pump i have... and that spark plug wire thats deff why im hearing the missfire? and could that missfire cause i high NOx let me say this the last time this car has ever been threw emissions was back in 2002 i picked up the car and found the old emissions statement and it had a high nox so im just assuming it still does

Well I would suggest to get new plugs and wires b/c the one in the picture is shot, but NOx emissions comes from excessive cylinders temperatures and the leading cause of that is Very Lean A/F Mixtures.
.
Ok so I'm runing lean due to the fact that I'm runing the 16g with no fuel support ?

Well I may not be they turbo causing you to go lean but the high NOx is from a lean condition. I would do a tune up on the car and get it to running good with no misfire and then run it through emissions to see if it still is producing high NOx.

i personaly never ran it threw emissions im just going going of the old emissions reading back in 2002 the last time the car has been registered and went threw emissions was back in 02 but besides that im getting new wires and plugs

Well I would suggest to do a tune up on it (I.e) Plugs, wires, changes all fluids, replace any hoses or vacuum lines that show wear as preventive maintenance and just drive the car normal until you can get Link and when you do you will be able to see if the car is running lean or rich or what its doing.

ill be fine even though the cars running a 16G
