Howdy ya'll. Got a random problem that doesn't happen very often maybe once a day and quickly fixes itself, just want to get a idea as to what it is and take care of it and hope it improves performance some. I have a 1990 Talon AWD TSi 5speed. Mods done to it are a tubular exhaust manifold, have stock O2 housing and DP with 3"exhaust (no cat), free mod'd intake, and was told by previous owner that the 14b has upgraded larger internals...(havn't confirmed).
Well the problem has happened when in 3rd most of time and only maybe 2-4 times while in 4th or 5th starts at about 2500 when the turbo starts or should be spooling but instead of getting the boost it feels like the car is a 1.8liter and has no power. If I let go of the gas completely while in gear and try again to accelerate problem goes away and pulls like a mofo. It almost seems like the WG or BOV is staying open after the shift from previous gear and letting go of gas creates a back pressure or what not to close it. Also it gets the boosted LOUD not a bad loud but like the turbo is boosting at max. BoV is recirculated and almost new. Not sure if a boost leak would be this sporadic. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I'm already aware of a exhaust leak between turbo and head just havn't found exact location, but don't believe that to be the cause as it would be more common for problem to happen. Car idles ok at 600-800 rpms when stopped, no dying problems just bogs down like a spark blow out. Though it does burn rich, so rich sometimes makes eyes water some;(
Also my EGR sensor's wire has been fried since i bought car almost a month ago + longer puts up a CEL check it weekly and only that one code (43).
No other noises besides the exhaust tick, loud exhaust, whistle from moon roof, and a annoying rattle sometimes from the back half of car. Smells are only from the rich exhaust, and absolutly no smoking what so ever (very happy about that) Also burns no oil, and has a small coolant leak but nothing big.
Thank you in advance for any input and advice.

), it sounds to me like you have some tuning issues. The loss of power after shifting could be a lot of things, but I'm thinking it is due to knock and your ECU pulling boat loads of timing.
Now I'm stuck at 8psi for now. Can't wait to get my BCS back and running, or investing in a MBC to get that 15psi back. After getting the boost back to stock next is the wideband AF gauge then the link/logger for the ECU. And working from there.
