dude, im not gonna lie, i love build threads like these. so inspiring. gives me some hope.

love the thread, keep at it man! id selfishly say "check out my thread!" but that seems needy, and i havent updated for a month or so.

once again, congrats, and i consider you a true grassroots type man, in the best way possible.

:thumb:

Thanks! And I will check out what you have going on, love seeing others builds. I like the grassroots comment, inspiring in alot of ways. I can't afford to do the big crazy build, and even with this one can't afford all the newest stuff. But, I make it work!

I have a good lead to get a set of 24.5" slicks and some 15" wheels for the car now, just have to see if I can free up the funds now. The house needs a new roof and hopefully there will be some extra money in that fund after we price everything out. For now though I just need to get this thing running again.

Thanks Marybeth! Hoping my ethanol tester rolls in from STM soon. Ony item that didn't come with everything else. I still have a few gallons out of the car from the last race and I'm curious as to the actual ethanol content. Plan on filling a container or two when we have full on e85 in the summer for use in the cooler fall months this year.

She's back under her own power! Took her for a quick trip to spray the dust off at the carwash. Alot of cleaning up to do still, alot of tacky stuff from the spoiler removal. Definitely not a fan of the appearance without the spoiler but this is all about weight now. Few issues after my wiring stripping, no tachometer and no blinkers. Need to retrace my stuff and see if I missed a ground or pulled a wrong wire or two. I was a little nervous about the four puck being grabby right off the bat but it seems to drive very similar to the street disc so far. So alot of little clean-up/finish-up things to get done but the motivation is high now that it runs again :thumb:

Fixed the tachometer this morning, fortunately it was just a ground wire. Started looking for the issue with the turn signals, got far enough to know the flasher unit is all hooked up fine when work called me in. I should be able to get back to it this week. I have to do a few more wire connections for gauges and the clutch cut wire, but since I don't have power out there I can't solder them. That'll wait until I actually bring it home.

Got back to it today, ended up wiring up the turn signals so it's good to go. Then rain stopped my progress, no lights in the storage unit.

On their way now! We'll see if mid 11's 14b car can become low 11's 14b car.
Rota Slipstreams 15x7 and M&H Racemaster Sicks 24.5x8.5x15 :sneaky:

I've been getting other little things done on the car, removed some left-over sound deadening and some little brackets, probably 5-6 lbs total. Also made a door panel out of corrugated plastic for the drivers side, great borrowed idea from 9!'clipseDOHC. Unfortunately my local home depot didn't carry as large of sheets so it's not as clean as his, but it still covers all sharp metal edges. Hopefully the wheels/slicks will be arriving next week and with the swap back to E-85 and a couple runs to check the tune I should be ready for the track.

Hopefully tires get delivered tues as called for. I subscribed to the thread I like what your doing here and hope get get the spot on the list your after.

I like that your running e85. What size injectors ate you running??

Thanks Justin, and thanks for the slicks! I have fic 1050cc injectors. I like running ethanol but, the issue I have is not always knowing what exact percentage is coming out of the pump. Ordered a tester drom STM to keep better tabs on it this year, that was a month ago now though and I haven't seen or heard anything about it.

Peaks right below 70% with them. I purchased them thinking I'd have a 16g on the car eventually, of course now people say they aren't big enough for that and E85. For now they work flawlessly with Link and the 14b.

That's a better duty cycle than me on race gas. I'm at a solid 60% on pte780s.

Well looks like they work perfect for your setup. You'll have some room to grow.

Nice work! I should keep better tabs on this progress so when you hit up US-131 raceway I can make my short drive down and spectate!

And yea I loose my clutch tool all the time as well and now have 3 of them LOL

I'll try to make it known when I'm going. I'll probably start off at Milan this year as it's a bit closer for me. But the majority of the more serious dsmers seem to be over towards Martin so I'll be over there more then once. It's a little bit nicer track too, although I heard Milan resurfaced for this year. I can't wait to get out there!

Slicks are mounted and ready to go! 27.5 lbs a piece according to the bathroom scale, close enough to make me happy :rocks: Actually a touch lighter then the borrowed combo from last year. I'm hoping for a track visit this coming week, we'll see how it shapes up. I still need to pick up some lug nuts for these, the hubcentric rings, and apparently the tire shop still has two of my center caps. I really hope they didn't do something stupid and lose them. My wife picked them up and it wasn't noticed they weren't there until I got home after the place closed. :ohdamn:

I think I'm in love! Could probably stand to be lowered more, but it'll do for now. Now it's time to hit the track! Hoping within a week or so if I can get a day with good weather.

Finally got my ethanol tester in the mail today and tested what's in the tank, this is a combination of what was in the car last year and about 5 gallons of fresh. 75% :( Probably going to run this stuff out with some street driving and check what the stuff straight from the pump is currently at. I'm going to assume it's still in the mid to upper 70% range which is hardly good enough to race on. Might have to wait longer then I thought.

I would run 75% all day. Even 70%. I think you are making that a bigger deal than it would need to be.

I did some reading on that today. Seems the "octane" rating isn't all that much different, and it's not really a big reason for concern unless you're on the ragged edge of a tune. Being I'm on a conservative tune still you're probably right, shouldn't worry too much. But, it wouldn't hurt to put some more miles on this clutch disc anyways.
