You could pop the needle off and put it on to the corresponding speed you are traveling. Will need to be done while driving so an open empty parking lot would be best.

Yep pull the cluster out and adjust the needle by hand until you get it right.

i re-did my guages, and i ended up putting the temp needle in the wrong spot, it reads a little hot now...its damn annoying. That is a little more involved to get that right!

I was driving on the highway yesterday, doing about 55mph, I was approaching construction zone and they had a digital speedometer reader up. I was actually going slower by like 3mph, than what my gauge was reading. Anyways, I like it this way because I am always doing below the speed limit according to the radar

remove the cluster. then remove the clear case, remove the needle. put back the speedometer without the clear case. get a gps and cruise about 60. and match your speedometer with gps. or if you have dsmlink, you can use that as reference.

The faster you go the further off it will be. Or if you move the needleWTF Then your speedo will be off both ways. The only speed that will be correct will be the speed you set it at.:nono::notgood:

Yea! Someone is paying attention.

I'm also somewhat disappointed that no-one has yet asked the thread-starter what size tires he has (although Bud came close).

DSM speedometers already run a tad high on stock-sized tires. And then you went and put some itsy-bitsy tires on your car.

shut down thread, pls

does the needle bounce a lot at low speeds? if so i would check your speed-o cable or possibly gear. otherwise i would think you could get another cluster from a junk yard easy enough.

Assuming 205/55/16 was stock, the 205/40/17 is about 1.4" less in dia. and changes speedo by 2 mph at that speed.

Check your speed by using mile markers or have a friend drive next to you at a constant speed.
