I'm not sure where to post this. I was thinking custom fab but it's for like write ups. I'm very down on money but I still want to be in the game. Yeah like that, even intercooler pipes. I just have the stock t 25 turbo at the moment. I was wondering if you guys know anything to spray on the stock plastic intercooler pipes to make it hard so it don't have to expand as much and act like hard pipes. Input would be great. Thanks!

The benefit of the hard pipes is more in increasing the free flowing ability of the charged air system, not so much the expansion factor. There really isn't any spray that's going to get you the benefits of hard intercooler piping, if anything spraying something on the pipes will help to insulate the heat inside.

Ops I meant the rubber pieces by the tb but I guess you guys already know. Thanks for replying guys but I'm still kinda stump.
I wanted a spray so it'll harden up:hmm:
Heat is a factor in a way but I'm sure the rubber pieces hold heat one way or the other so it might not matter much. If we could find a solution I'll do a log on it to see if the incoming air raised the temp.

I don't really know the science behind actually hardening it up, but I would imagine it would have to be something that dries out the rubber hose, which would basically make it brittle.

I haven't really though of that... you could be right. But I'll keep searching though... thanks!

Maybe that jb weld idea might work. Like a thin layer of it.

I would just stay away from man.. You can fab some custom smic pipes for less than it would cost to coat the stock pipes in jbweld.

Go to auto zone and get some exhaust bends, take them to a shop and have them welded. You can make smic pipes for under 30$

The title is a bit misleading :sneaky::p

But on a serious note, I would say just wait and save some money for hard piping. Its probably not worth going through all the effort of possibly ruining the stock rubber pipes. Keep an eye on the classified section, you might be able to get a deal on some used hard piping someone is selling.

Neither a vasectomy nor castration has any effect on erectile function. Those are myths. If you have "issues" after being "fixed," it's all in your head.

ps. I apologize for not reading the thread; I'm in a hurry and only read the thread title. If someone already told you what I said, then, of course, ignore this.

I've heard just wrapping the piping with hockey stick tape will make them stiffer.

Ha. I know the title was misleading. I couldn't think of a title to suit the cause.

I'll look up the hockey tape idea.

That's cool. But for future reference, the term "spay" is only used for females. Assuming that you're a guy, it would be "neutered."

Or am I still missing the point by not reading the thread?

LOL... you know what. When i was typing the question I also realize that I spelled spray as "spay"
I guess I was thinking of two different thingsLOL

BTW... what do they use to make cast for like broken bones. Just and idea, i'll google it instead.

Your IC pipes have to have some point of "give" or flex in them to compinsate for motor flex under load. If you make it a solid pipe or rigid setup then something will break loose. Yes the UICP does have alot of expansion but if your running the stock turbo setup its not really going to do anything for a performace advantage. The rubber couplers are there for a reason.
