How hard to make a turbo kit from a gst/talon turbo (for a 4G64)?

I know not to much about turbos and to buy a turbo setup is alot but I heard putting one together is a bit cheaper. Will it fit snug in the engine bay and all? What am I looking to spend and parts to get? I searched but I didnt know how to word it. Maybe start with a gst/talon turbo and build from there? I seriously dont wont to sound like a moron but yea to late anyone have any suggestion? Also what Exact engine is in the spyder? Thanks again

The 4G64 engine (similar to the 4G63, but 2.4L and SOHC) is in the Spyder. Adapting a GS-T/GSX turbo kit for use in a Spyder isn't too hard since your engine is very close to the 4G63 as it is.

Seeing as though you have a 4G64 (and not a 420A), you'd be better off posting in the 4G63 tech section for more appropriate reponses.

what I would try and do is find someone who threw a rod in a 1g turbo car and buy that for cheap and swap everything over. The smic wouldn't fit perfect, but you could probably make it fit with some creativity. I bought a 1990 eclipse gst for 600 with a seized engine, so it my goal had been to turn an n/t into a turbo, I could have done it for 600 dollars, + a little more for unforseen stuff that wouldn't swap over.
 
My buddy has a spyder gs whcih is turboed. He used the stock 2g mas, stock 2g mani, head etc. It's pretty easy!
 
So tstkl are you saying to drop that engine in or take parts from it? Kinda baffled me there.
 
He is talking about taking parts from a 4g63 to turbo a 4g64 which is common and works very well.
