sparatic steering on highway

When i'm driving on the highways, my car steers very sparatically and i have to fight to keep it in my lane. The other day i raced an STI up to about 90 and then put on my brakes fairly hard because my exit was coming up and my car was all over the lane it was scarey. It is obviously due to the worn parts of the freeways but is it this bad for anyone else? My suspension mods are in profile. Thanks.

Mine is doing the same thing right now. My front left tire is slightly off toe. Time to get an alignment.

Alignment, wheel bearings, dragging brakes, dead shocks, loose wheels, all of those can be factors.

Basically you said your suspension is effed... then you say you raced another car on a public road up to 90 even when you knew you had a big problem mechanically...

My suspension isn't effed its actually brand new thanks. We weren't full out racing, just messing around. oh and did i mention there were no other cars around? guess not...

Before then i felt a slight pull when driving on the highway but had no idea it would react like that.

Thats not the point. The point is you were going well beyond the speed limit on a public road. This make everyone who owns a car that resembless a dsm a bad person and is going to put innocent peopl in harms way. No different than real street racing. Because of people like you car enthusiest that do follow the rules have to pay penaltiees of high insurance, and stricter laws. Thanks for making it hard for me to be able to afford insureance for my dsm Thanks....

haha, i'm personally the reason you can't afford insurance? or is it cause you're broke? If you're gonna flame someone for racing on public roads or call them a "bad person," then please feel free to address your statements to over half the people on this board. not gonna call any of the moderators out but i like how they go n yell at people for breakin the rules but yet when they do it they clear the threads n pretend that they didnt do anything...gotta love the role of playing god on this site....yea i was out tonight and was breaking hard at like 80 or 90 not sure but the brakes felt really mushy b4 that i broke around 50 n 40 kinda hard like two times but this time the brakes felt mushy and the car was swerveing on its own it seemed...mirrors started flapping...i dunno whats wrong with it after i stopped it stunk like hell i guess the break pads overheated...when i got home i just looked around the wheel to see if anything was odd or off...didnt notice anything but i touched the center of the rim....it was burning hot never happened b4 at least i never noticed the rims gettin hot from hard braking sorry to jack ur thread but are our cases similar?

My car did the same thing this year after putting in polyurethane bushings. Turns out my toe was all messed up. Get an alignment and you should be alright.
