Car is a little "loose" on the highway

Well I've had a problem with my car having a bit of a mind of its own(my 90 laser RS). Before I had an alignment it would really pull one way when accelerating..then the other way while decelerating. Well now that I've had an allignment I figured the dang problem would go away.
However the problem still exists but on a much lower level..still is a bit much. It doesn't seem like I have an excessive ammount of play in my steering wheel. I have a wheel bearing that used to sqeak..doesn't squeak anymore. Could my wheel bearings cause this problem or is there a more likely solution.

PS I had my car looked at for the problem and they replaced some things(along with that allignment). I don't have the recipt so I don't recall exactly what they repaced.

If no one responds with a decent answer, PM or email Jtmcider. I'm sure he can help you out.

Thanks for the kind words, but I didn't reply because I don't know 1Gs very well. If you point a gun at me and say "guess or die" then I'd check those silly dynamic toe arms in the rear, as well as the alignment. I would also go over the control-arm bushings. After that I'd just say "shoot me."

I agree with the control arm bushings -

I'd also try swaybar bushings. I had a major problem with the swaybar on a FWD vehicle of mine - one bushing was burned off in a fire (caused by me using a blowtorch underneath the vehicle - long story), and the exact symptoms you describe occurred - when I accelerated, the wheel pitched left - when I braked or decelrated, the wheel jerked right (with no change in the direction of the vehicle).

If I kept the wheel steady, then it would steer itself in the opposite direction of the way the wheel wanted to move.

My symptoms were probably much more pronounced than yours, but chances are that the bushing(s) are just worn, not completely disintegrated like mine was.

It could be the steering rack mount bushings, these are starting to wear out in 1G's. Also check the rear upper control arm bushing where it mounts to the upright.

when the weather clears up I'll get out and check up on those items.
