Just got finished up with a full rebuild on the 1g and it runs absolutely great, but it will not go into closed loop. Just wanted to see if someone could take a look at the log and try to point me in the right direction. I know the tune looks like crap, but its just there to get the car to run. I cant tune much until it gets into closed loop and I get the wideband installed this week.

02 sensor is brand new as well as CTS.

It will not go into closed loop while driving or while idling.

1). Any boost, vac, or exhaust leaks?
Not yet tested since rebuild (at least I am not lying)

2). Verified mechanical timing?
Yes

3). Verified base timing?
Yes

4). Ignition system
COP or Stock Coil: Stock
Wire brand and Age: NGK 5 years old
Spark Plug brand, type and Gap: NGK-BPR7ES/.024

6). Performed basic throttle body adjustments?
Idle Switch: No
Throttle Cable: Yes
TPS: Yes
BISS: No

7). Compression ratio
8.5:1

8). Any known bad sensors or brittle wiring?
No

9). Any DTC/CEL codes?
No

10). Electrical system
Car off (not running): Was not logging. I can check if it is in question.
Car running:

11). Base fuel pressure and injector values
Base Fuel Pressure: Stock FPR
Injector Size (cc/min): 850

12). Properly calibrated and configured wideband sensor
Sensor Brand: Installing it this week.
Calibration Date:

13). Type of fuel
Type: 93 Octane

14). Watched ECMlink how-to videos?

From looking at the log, the front o2 isn't cycling. I can't remember the open loop checklist, but your open loop thresholds look fine.

Based on the ecm wiki, the only thing that you aren't meeting is a cycling o2. Maybe try swapping it or narrowband sim when your wideband shows up.

We'll the fact that the old 02 wasn't working (I thought it was just bad) and a brand new one is not either, I'm leaning toward maybe wiring issue?

I could give the narrowband sim a shot. I would prefer to fix the issue and use the narrowband long term though.

Bingo. The double wire was so brittle it broke when I touched it. The other one was hidden under the carpet and I missed it when I checked the grounds the first time. Thanks guys. It's in closed loop now
