So my 97 Eclipse RS struggles to start but starts, runs good till warm but when I come to a stop then try accelerating it jerks and backfires and looses all power. If I cut the car off for a few seconds it's still hard to start but runs good again for 15 or so miles.

I've already replaced the fuel pump spark plugs and the ignition coil pack but can't figure out what's going on

Anyone else have this problem before?

Any codes/CEL come up?

It sounds like an o2 sensor to me but if you can at least try to scan it while the problem is happening. These are old cars now so sometimes a scan may not help. I just had my buddy run low on gas and he had no idea, well I was getting an o2 sensor code and lean bank 1 code, it was doing exactly what your describing. After i swapped a new sensor i had laying around the problem didn't change so i threw gas in just to be sure and the problem was solved. This was on a 96 talon and the gas gauge doesn't work.
Have you verified fuel pressure at the rail? I've ran into everything from a clogged fuel filter to a clogged cat if the car still has one.
