okay, I have a snapped connecting rod in my 420A motor. The tech at the service shop said I need to replace the engine and he can purchase one and swap them out for $2,100.
He will get a stock long block. My question is, since the rod put notches in the cylinder walls, i need a new block but would it be cheaper to buy a short block and swap everything off of my engine onto it rather than buy a complete long block? I need the cheapest scenario possible because I just got laid off and money is really tight.
1997 eclipse N/T, 5spd.
