I just bought a very nice DSM a couple days ago, when i got there to look at it he mentioned that the power steering and ac wont work because he cant find the right serpentine belt to fit. That sounded really fishy to me but the car was too nice and clean to pass up (its a California car). When i got home and looked closer i saw the the tensioner pulley was floppy around with only one bolt holding it on, the other bolt had snapped in the block. Has this happened to anyone else before? and if so whats the easiest way to get this snapped bolt out of its hole? the bolt is almost flush to the block so theres not much to work with.

I don't think your speaking in the correct terms here. You may want to post dome pictures so when can identify your problem and help you better.

The tensioner pulley is for the timing belt, and has only one bolt. The other components like alt., power steering, ac, all get tension from adjusting the actual tension of the component.

Scroll down this thread a few posts and there is a picture of the accessory belts and how they are routed. Maybe this will help you explain it better.

Edit: your probably 420a. I didnt realize. Keep searching if this didn't help you.

Getting Broken Bolts Out

Try this, though I wouldn't hit it with a torch.

you can never go wrong investing in tools especially since you now own a dsm a tap and die set will do just fine keeps you from any drastic measures........[torching your block]:nono:

A tap and die set will not get the bolt out but you still may need one. Go to sears and buy an extractor set they range from 5-100 bucks depends on how many sizes and quality. You drill the bolt with the bit that corresponds to the extractor put the extractor in the new hole in the bolt and reverse it out with a drill. You may need to use some pb blaster or a small butaine torch to heat the metal around it, also dot 3 will work just dont get it on any thing else and it has to sit a while. It can be done with out wrecking anything I know took 5 exhaust manifold bolts out of the heads on my buddies dodge. Also if the bolt is sticking out enough just use some vice grips... much easer.

I think the parts name is the air conditioning belt tension pulley. It's the bolt that puts the tension on the pulley that broke.I broke mine a few months ago.Tell the parts person its for the air conditioning belt so they wont get confused with the timing belt tensioner.I paid $80-100 for the pulley, bolt, and the block the bolt goes through. But you can purchase the part without the pulley.
