I cracked the bolt for the serpentine belt tensioner and now I don't know what to do. I have checked the junkyards to no avail, and the dealership wants over a hundred bucks for the whole tensioner. I really don't want to spend that if all I need is a bolt. The problem is the bolt has metric threads, is left handed, and has a collar. If anyone has a parts car or knows where to get a replacement bolt cheaper I would greatly appreciate it. Its getting hot and not having power steering on a car that was never meant to be without it sucks.

same thing happened to me. the tensioner bolt broke. all i did i used i big bar, put pressure on the pulley until the belt is thight enough and then tighten the pulley.

and i thought i was the only dumb ass that broke the ps tensioner bolt. i don't know what to do either. i like the idea about the prybar i will try that when i have a motor in my car :thumb:

This is actually the second one I have snapped. I think the first one on my previous car was just by chance and this one snapped from damaged threads and an air ratchet. No one is parting out a 420a eclipse??

The same thing happened on my sebring, i went and got a new one from a dodge dealership it cost me like 140 bucks or something like that. But i got the whole pulley and everything. you could try to use a regular bolt but the tension bolt is treaded the opposite direction. So you may have to buy the whole pulley assembly
