Alright guys the other day my ecu started smoking. Pulled it out the caps were burnt and this other thing was burnt too. Im 100% pretty sure that I can still rebuild it since im still able to drive with it like that. I am going on ebay to buy new 105 deg caps for it. This other thing on there I want to replace because it is burnt but I dont know what it is. The pic isnt from my ecu, mine has burnt marks and one of the pins of the capacitors was meltedoff. But the thing circled is partially melted but still looks like it is intact. This is an emprom that I have and I wont let it go to waste!

Those black inline packages are drivers for the solenoids and ISC. When the ISC coils short it blows IC105, IC107 or both. On turbo ECUs IC104 is the one closest to the center and IC109 on the outside. These driver aren't something you can run to radio shack for. We have to order them in bulk to get N.O.S. shipped over from surplus suppliers in Asia or you can rob them from otherwise dead ECUs but desoldering them is a PITA.

Would any year turbo model work if I get them off of another dead ecu? Or do you know the part number for them if I go the other route.

So are the drivers all the same part number, but used for different solenoids and ISC?

I know it's hard to read the numbers off the side of them but yes, all six of them are the same IC.

They are M5269L low saturation voltage transistor drivers. They were designed for things like firing the pins in a dot matrix printer. They are used on the ECU to activate the relays, solenoids, and step the ISC.

Thanks for the help, Ill try to get a hold of the parts. Im going to ask an electronics professor at my school to see if he can get someone to repair my ecu for me.
