Ok people i need some help in a new project another '91 Tsi Awd the car but it came with a STM front facing turbo manifold for a 2g one of my friends told me to buy a radiator and a/c condenser from a 96 civic, but i dont know since the radiator and a/c condenser are smaller if thats gonna give me cooling problems:confused:

Keeping everything else the same, yes, decreasing the size of your radiator will give you cooling problems. By doing so, you are decreasing the surface area for the heat transfer to occur, meaning less heat transfer and higher outgoing coolant temperatures. Too many members here have problems enough with original radiators and with your location, I would not suggest downsizing the radiator.

Other variables could help you keep coolant temperatures down if you did choose to do so like proper ducting, correct fans, etc., but that is opening a whole different can of worms. I'm sure it has been done on many cars. Researching the topic might help you if you decide to downsize.

I would say ducting is one of the major causes of over heating with FMIC's. Get some good ducting and I would think it should do fine in all honesty.

Honda parts on a dsm? I think not. Use the proper radiator for the car. There is a temp sensor in the radiator that works the fans doubt your gonna find that on a honduh.

Also If you have cooling problems because of a FMIC and a/c condenser I have put valve springs between the hood and hood hinges raising the back of the hood. This pulls cool air from under the car and allows the heat to escape the top cause as we all know heat rises. Before you do this make sure the air restriction in the reason for over heating and not mechanical problems.
