i have dyno my car at 228hp (w/ tuning) at the wheels with my mods. i was wondering if these numbers right. i have not posted my dyno sheet yet, but I will.
Is there anything wrong with my car that i should check? My car was dyno at 17.5 psi.

Can anyone help me please. going to the track in November and hopefully get close to mid 13's.
And last week i check for boost leaks in my car and i found a small hole in my front mount intercooler :notgood: and I fixed that same weekend :thumb: . Also i dyno my car during the summer, so do you think i gained a little more power because i fixed the boost leak. thanks the the help.

Seems kinda weak to me. How's the exhaust path (ported manifold/o2 housing)?

What are you using for fuel control?

I don't know if it is ported or not because i bought the car like it is and the owner of the car was out of state and his brother sold it to me and don't know much about turbo cars. i know i don't have so much boost creep.

the fuel control that the shop was tunning with was my S-AFC and i was running on 91 pump gas.
 
Would have been nice if they had a wideband on there for you. Do you have a logger? If so post a log. You should be able to run more boost than that, but I'm not too sure on 91 octane. With a logger you could keep bumping it up and see how your timing is doing. Timing is a CRITICAL component to making power, IMO, you can't tune without knowing what's happening with it.

If you don't have a logger, I'd spend your next $100 on that instead of a dyno run or track day.

i do have a pocket logger. i just use it to clear codes and i am still not familiar with using it :confused:. but i will try later to post a log if i can figure it out. and i know 91 octane sucks for dsm i wish we had at least 92 or 93 oct.
 
Log RPM, timing, airflow, o2, throttle position. Start the logger and run it from 3k-7k in second or third gear. Then post back the results. We can go from there.

here is my first log. does it look ok? Is there any way to change the time intervals to spread out the data? can someone help me please? thanks

Log again with just RPM Timing O2 B1. Notice how you are getting a sample/500 rpm, cutting the info you are logging in half should double the number of samples taken. I get a sample every 50-75 rpm.

Anyone know what's up with the airflow readings?

What program is this you are logging with?
 
Just for reference, I have a s16g, SAFC for tuning, (check my other mods) I dynoed at 290 to the wheels on a dynojet. I was at 22 psi (no knock).

I was on 94 octane, I think the 91 could be holding you back a bit.

Yes a hole in the front mount would make a difference. That air was counted and expected to make it to the cylinders and fuel adjusted accordingly.

Also cooler temps now should help some also.

Ok here is another log can any one help please? hope this helps. My program is just the regular OBD2 from pocketlogger. Do i have any knocks in my timing? thanks

I dunno those number look pretty awesome to me. Really high timing in your lower RPM range. Fuel is probably tuned well there. Timing advance of ~23 degrees is fine too at the high end.

o2's also look to be in range. You're o2's are steady and match the rpm's well you can tell it has been tuned somewhat accurately but thats all it tells us. A chimp could also get a tune that resembles those o2 values as well. My theory is that while your fuel looks to be in line the tune is just not quite right for your setup.

Of course don't forget general maintenance, boost leaks tests and such. It also wouldn't hurt to give your engine a compression test just to see how she's doing.

Well i dyno tuned it in the summer and i did a boost leak a couple of weeks ago and found a hole in my intercooler and also fixed it.
Does anybody think that 228 awhp is right with my setup because I thought i would have at least 240-250 awhp? i will do a compression test soon.
Anything else to get good horsepower because i am going to the track soon and see if my car will get a good 1/4 mile time.

1. make sure your bov isnt leaking or adjust it stiffer to hold more boost
2. make sure your intake is big enough, i know its only a small16, but too tiny of an intake tract could in theory limit your power
3. make sure the turbo isnt blown (shaft play)
4. check general maintenance (old oil sounds stupid but can rob some decent power, boost leaks as mentioned but check the connection of the manifold-motor and manifold-turbo for any leaks, spark plug gap/condition, and most importantly compression)
5. keep upgrading some stuff and see if anything gets fixed (heak soaked IC, hard pipes etc.)

just gotta fool around until you find something. Then again it could just be a small turbo ;)
