Where so you guys get them? I see a ton of chinese but not sure about reliability.. any good spots to visit to start planning my budget for spring?

I would say the classifieds, there's one for sale even right now. Some vendors may still have old stock for Evo III 16Gs but I doubt you would be able to find a small 16G in new condition. Or you could hit some of the free lancers in here that perform turbo rebuilding services, they could hook you somehow up I'm sure.

Yep, I'd agree you probably aren't going to find a new one anywhere, but you could probably find a newly rebuilt one from a rebuilder.

Yes, unless you want your motor to not last and eat metal LOL! There might be like 1-2 that have been ok here and there. But the majority arnt built properly and just don't last. So yes stay away from them and only buy one you know is genuine!

Thats what i thought. Im coming from the honda world and used a borg warner. Ive seen turbos from china with hot glue literally preventing shaft play to the untrained eye.

Ill stick with the 14b until i find a legit 16g down the road.

Where have you seen Chinese Small 16G's? This is news to me.

And yes, their reliability would be somewhere between horrible and scrap.

Bought mine from a member on here....The member Had a great classified rating so I felt comfy spending the extra money the guy was asking!
I haven't installed it yet, but there is no shaft play in any direction which is what he was advertising!
I"m a happy camper so far!

My car being a daily, reliability is the keyword. I already have a high horsepower non daily so I plan on sticking to mild mods on this car. I dont need anything over 350hp to drive daily.
