So I bought a used small 16g for my 2g eclipse, and it had some major cracks in the exhaust housing. Anyways, I purchased a new 16g exhaust housing and when I attach the WG actuator it is nice and tight. It seemed a bit loose (flapper not shut tight) so I put a washer between the bolts on the WG actuator. This helped and made the flapper PERFECTLY seated in the hole. Soo....my problem is when I grab pliers and try to open the flapper while the arm is attached it only opens about a third of the way before the WG actuator bottoms out (at least feels like it does). This isnt enough from what everyone says so does it have the wrong WG actuator on it? Ill take pics if required. Thanks!

Are you sure you have the right actuator it looks like my old one.

He said this is the one that it came with when he ran it with no problems. The cotter pin was rusted to heck, so he didnt swap them before selling. Im willing to buy the right one if I can determine this one is wrong. How much travel should the arm have? I can measure it.

Turbo will never make boost like that- definitely need to shim the actuator outward until the flapper is closed.

This is the product of using a MHI actuator on a knockoff turbine housing.

In the first post, he mentions that he shimmed the actuator and the flapper seats perfectly. The pic shows the flapper arm completely extended, not closed.

From the pic, it seems normal to me. You'll never get anywhere near to full flapper door travel with the actuator attached.

I apologize, I read it wrong- the factory MHI actuators only open the flapper about 3/8" at the most. Boost will still be controlled fine as long as the hole in the housing is large enough to flow the amount of exhaust needed to moderate the amount of boost you're attempting to run.

There are issues with fitment of MHI actuators on knockoff turbine housings- the mounting towers on the knockoff compressor covers are shorter than a MHI cover, so definitely beware that it's not a bolt-on affair by any means.

Looks good to me, they never open all the way. You might want to port that wastgate hole so you don't get boost creep, unless you plan to run 20+psi. Justin is the ebay turbine housing wg hole smaller then oem turbine housing wg hole? I think they are but not shure.
