2G Slight scratch in cylinder wall. Problem?

Hey guys, I know many of you are going to say this has been covered 1000x times, but I recently got my block back from the machine shop. They just used a ball hone since there was plenty of cross etching in the cylinder walls. I have been gapping piston rings, putting the rings in and out of the cylinder to check the gap as i gap them. I noticed this scratch today in one of the cylinders. It isn't very deep, I can just baaaaarely feel like when running my fingernail over it slowly. It is the vertical scratch right under the lowest part of the tape if you can see it.

Input needed, can I run w/o rehoning, or is this gonna need to be rehoned.

Also, how could this scratch have gotten there? Is it likely that the piston rings scratched the cylinder wall when putting them in to check gap?

You have to de burr the ring ends, and be careful when pushing them down into the bore when you check gaps, and file fit the rings. I would hone the scratch out, and start over.

Actually, looking at the other bore as well, I'd take the block to a machine shop and tell them to hone it with a real cylinder hone.

Id agree with donniekak... the scratch itself is not enough to worry about, but the crosshatch looks rough.
