^That auto at 4.42 seems really high and others have shown 3.97 so I wish there was a true consensus on the Final Drive numbers.
JOHNTSI, you're a tough manual transmission guy to please. If it works on a 2G, Sinister makes it fit a 1G and vice versa. There's only 1 other aftermarket 2G converter, the rest are all restalls so not so sure about "plenty" of options.
Any updates Turbodsm90?
We where running autos before it was the cool thing to do. Hell the first time we took the record Russ Cox had it. We still have 3 cars here we run autos in, all 9 second cars, two with the capability to go much faster on two of them. Its not as simple as making a 2g fit into a 1g core by any means. We worked with Hughes to make working 1G convertors for these cars and still run them in one of the cars. We have a sinister 10" and one of the only functional IPT 9" stalls still left in the other. It took Lee testing 5 in his car for IPT and sending them back to get one that eventually worked. I know all too well how much work goes into designing and making one of these work and it is no where as simple as you seem to think it is. There are two totally different convertors and will require just that.
I would love for Sinister or anyone else to make a working 1G option but its gonna take building a converter, having a car test it and modifying and changing until its right. The 2g options out there already work but as of right now there is not a currently produced 1g high stall converter available for sale.
