So with my lights setup like this diagram. Low beam works great and is bright. When I switch to high beam All the lights come on but they are dim. The way I have it wired the high (top lights) should come on brightly and the bottom shouldn't come on at all. Some how I'm back feeding to all 4 lights. Do I need a diode in this somewhere to prevent this?

Oh and the light housings are isolated (not grounded).

Thanks

You need to run the high beams in parallel with the low beams, rather than in series.

Wait... is that a three position switch and normally open?

Thanks for the quick reply.

Can I retain the constant power supply to the lights? Using the ground to activate the Low and Hi beams if I wire it parallel?

What really is getting me is the switch. If it is as drawn -- there is always a direct ground for the low beams -- that is the problem. If the diagram is drawn as switched to low beams on and when switched to high beams there is no ground for the low, I don't have any idea why it isn't working.

I apologize that I jumped the gun there. I didn't look at it long enough before I made that suggestion.

The power source is a switched relay. Comes on with the IGN.

The switch isn't exactly as I have it drawn. It has an off position where it provides no ground.

Then it has the ability to have only "lo" or only "hi". Or I can set it up with low in the first position and both "Hi" and "Low" in the second position.

This is what you'd want -- but also looks like what you had in the first place. If your wiring is correct and you had it like that, I don't know why it wouldn't work correctly. Sorry I probably can't help as much as I'd hoped.

EDIT: I would move the switch to the hot side and run the highs and lows off the switch there.

Appreciate the help. I had it correct the first time. Just had a pin swapped on the weather pack. it all works now.
