LED Circuit Diagram

I can't seem to find circuit diagrams for these type of LEDs. I need to know how they get wired up and what type of resistors they require. I want to change my LED gauge and hvac setups but my research for these has stopped. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like they produce heat that requires a sink but nothing more than a pc board that isn't etched for dissipation. I hadn't seen these before but I'm not in a field where I'm exposed to them. Evidently much brighter device than your typical LED.

A fast way to test them if you have the leds would take a 2 AA batteries and put them in series to get 3v. Then take a 150ohm resister then probe the pins. A diode only has 2 pins so on this LED 2 pins are just holders. With the LED being clear you should be able to look on the back and see what pins are to the diode. If you want to have 2 volts instead of 3 use a voltage divider calculator online and it will tell you what resister to use to get 2V.

Marty AA are always easy to find. Use to take them out of remotes if I really needed to test something.

I would at least use a 470 ohm resistor for this.

Maybe 470 ohms in the final circuit at 12 volts. 150 ohms should be fine when testing at 3 volts from two AA batteries.

Yup, for that matter a 47 ohm would work from 3 volts.

I didn't realize all of those are RED....assumed white or various colors, depending on model.....now my FACE IS RED

Those LEDs do come in several colors including white.

I think it was understandable enough to start messing with them without blowing the bulbs. It's a good start.

It wouldnt take much to build them. Very simple PCB design. Just buy a set of cheap ebay housing to put the pcb in. The big thing is what is the lumins output needed to be effective.

Yeah it looked super simple. I was thinking about reflectors too since the LED conversion I did on my 92 worked well with a good reflector in the lens. The thing I don't like about that mod is the noise that my radio picks up from the small dc cooling fans.
