Should I part out my car?

My FWD TSi was recently in a wreck that I'm sure totaled it. That's fine with me since it was for sale for a long time and I will probably get almost what I was asking for it. Now I have a choice to make. Should I let the insurance company take the car, or should I pay to keep it. I was in this same situation a few years ago with a 420a, which I decided to keep. From my experience, I'm expecting around $2800-$3200 for the car (I hope). To keep it last time cost me about $450. At first I was just going to give it to them, but there are a few parts on it that I really want and I won't be able to replace using parts from my new car (i.e. the fuel sending unit). Plus it would be nice to have some spare parts. I have a 95 AWD that is the same color. Do you think I would be able to get at least $450 parting it out? The entire front end body is gone with the exception of one fender. I think everything else if good. The engine ticks (I think the head) and it has about 190k on it. The tranny grinds a little bit in 5th gear. It's a 95 so I think it has an eprom ecu. That should be at least $150-$200 of it right? Anyways What would you guys do?

Part it
Bought a 95 talon tsi auto fwd for 300 for parts for my self and parted the rest also bought a 97 awd spyder for 500 for the new black top and parted it out I have made close to 3k already on it. I have always parted out Dsm's and made money. I have parted out over 40 1g's and 10 2g's

I say part it for the sole reason that many dsm parts are becoming harder to find and a lot have been discontinued by mitsu. Besides its probably just going to be crushed and I say F that!

Part it.
I need the rear Motor mount with the bracket that hooks up to the back of the transmission/motor

PM me if u want to sell it to me
Thanks and good luck

I've parted my share of dsm's over the years. Things i would do-

Take all the plastics, and seats(unless the seats are in perfect condition) and dumpster them. They take up way to much space and you can usually never get anything for them. keep all mechanical engine parts, and taillights/bumpers. Thats the stuff that sells. If anything is newer (brakes or suspension wise) keep it. If not, keep it as a rolling chassis, Drop all drivetrain. Then roll it on the trailer and scrap it.
