2gb Eclipse Part Out..What Should I Get

Ok ive been tlking to a guy in my city with a eclipse gst he wants to part out im still fairly new to the dsm game....what parts should i get just becuz....guys giving me a great deal for the engine $150(Ill look it over of course)....but what else???

I am no veteran, but i've had my DSM for almost three years and have many friends that own DSM's.. I've bought parts from many part outs and from private sellers.

Back to your question, I'd say that it really depends on your car's current state? Is it running well? If not try seeing if this guy has any parts that will help you fix your issues. Also i've personally have bought a few parts that are purely aesthetic such as sideskirts or minor interior parts, again that just depends if your car needs any of that. Perhaps any inside panels, nice leather seats?

I don't know what set up you are currently running on your car since it is not listed on your profile and you didn't include any of that info on your post.

So, If you have money to spend, see what type of turbo he has? Maybe you can upgrade the one you have.

Also, it is always nice to have spare parts, so perhaps you can get his BOV, depending on which one he has and condition. I did see that you have a type s, which are good BOV's, but you never know when you might need a spare, specially since the type s are no longer in production and the diaphragms can rip over time, like it happened to me .

If you are running a stock air intake you could see if this guy has a better one available.

Other possible accessories include, boost controller, guages, gauge pods.


These are all minor things I guess, compared to the whole motor you're getting from him haha. Again all these things i've suggested depends on what you have on your car already.

Grab everything you can from the engine bay. Fuel pump. Side skirts. DOOR HANDLES.
And the front bumper if you dont already have a 2GB one.

Take things you know are gonna break and need. Like door handles always break. In my case I'd grab the alternator. Mine sits so close to my dp its only a matter of time before it goes so it'd be nice to have one I paid next to nothing for. If his shocks are good pick em up. Shocks and struts are usually overlooked when it comes to maitenance.

Yeah he`s stock ...i plan to get the engine and rebuild it..or the head at least...and i definetly need the shocks...but other than that im pretty str8....just wanna get stuff that any dsmER would wanna have around in just in case

Extra passenger side air bag cover, door handles, side skirts, basically the parts that look delicate if take. I can't tell you how many times I've been thankful to have my other 95 parts car in the back yard!
