Just like the title states. It just recently came to my mind about painting my rims black. I want an all black look to my car and wanted to blacken it up some more as possible.
Regardless of my next rim choice that i get, the wheels will be black as well.
Just not sure wether my current rims will look good in black or to hold off.
Pics are in my profile, i'm at work so i can't copy and paste from photobucket here.
If any of you can photoshop my wheels in black would be great as well. Thanks.

I'm very anti-black wheels nowdays since everything from Hondas to Cobras run them. I say "no", but in all honesty, what you do with your visual mods should be for you. Hell, I'm going to polishes lip/alloy type rims shortly...the farthest thing from my previous black undertakings.

I hate all black wheels. And I'm not a fan of "blacked out" cars. Even on my wifes black car with tint we put some hypersilver Enkei's on it to geep it from looking cheap and ghetto.

Thanks lando and kyle for your opinions. I think i'll leave them as is.

i think they look good if done right... painting them is not doing it right! i went from silver alloys to powder coated matte black evo IX wheels and never looked back, i love them. have someone photoshop your current wheels matte black and if you decide they look good get your bumper painted THEN powder coat your current wheels... :thumb:

quick question in preparation of painting rims can you use aircraft cleaner to clean the rims with the tires on or if not is there anything similar safe to do so

Hey, if your gona paint your rims your gona have to to take the tires off anyways, so dont use the aircraft stripper , im pretty sure it will eat away at the rubber even if not it cant be good for them.

and for the guy thinking of painting his rims black , I think it looks great on a black car, but its not what i or any one else thinks dude its your car you should decide what you want it to look like , not some random guy on the internet :hellyeah:

Thanks man i hear you, i was just trying to get some opinions. I just recently got an idea of a way to paint them, i was thinking painting the whole rim black minus the lip around. I'll see if i can use paint to give you an idea.

Yah the black rims are like the new fad, kinda annoying. What I'm doing with my black 2ga is black lip with a gold/bronze spokes...i like that look on black. A suggestion.

black car with black rims ... i dont know about that... but its your car ...

red car and black rims look good though...

More than likely it will look good. You can put red rim tape on the lips of your wheels if you want to make the black wheels really stand out.

Did the stock blades black with a silver lip on my 96 tsi 3 years ago still looks good - im ready for somethin different tho:D

Lol bud. Thanks guys. Well my rim has a lip but it's not the kind of lip that you could easily cover with tape, it's a 1 piece rim as shown on this pic.

i love the matte look with black and white. Bronze is an excellent choice as well. But i personally don't like the polished lip. Their are very few instances where i think it looks good. The wheels i have were spray painted black and they are starting to chip haha, can't wait to replace them. My mind changes every day, but today, i want bronze volks :D

well that style of wheel would be harder to get a good lip on it.. so maybe look into some other ones. or just paint the whole wheel

That's what i was thinking bro. I think i am going to paint it all black. I'll give it a shot.

ever thought about gunmetal? i got a black 97 im thinking of doing the factory rims in gunmetal spokes and the rest black.....not sure yet thought got think before i act:hmm:
