You shouldn't but honestly tuning software should be the first thing you get. You can't really do much with out it.

If you have a Eprom ECU I'd get ECMlink V3 lite at least. If you can afford it full is a lot better.

You will see more of a gain from ECMlink than anything else you put on your car. Plus you can tune and log with it for future mods. You shouldn't even turn up boost with a MBC with out a logger so its kind of pointless. Plus with out adjusting your tune for different boost levels the power level is lower than it could be.

Trust me it will be a lot nicer than buying that exhaust.

i think you should be fine. if you do anything else to the preformance end of the car then i would get a tune to be safe.

Aside from the free mods, maintenance/repairs. The first mod you should do is ECMLink v3 if you have the money. 1gs have other options and there is also the flashable ECU as well.

You can tune the stock car to run at peak performance, monitor what's going on, tune for future mods so you have the power that they can provide. You will get more from ECMLink than you will with the exhaust right now.

not to call anyone wrong but yes the link would be the best choice. but i see no need for it if all you want is a exhaust. ive been running one without a tune. but i have future plans. so what im saying is if you just want the sound then get the exhaust. but if you want power then id get the link

It might sound weird but my next DSM, I really WANT to find a bone stock one and buy v3 Lite right away and make it my first mod - and then just see how much better the car runs/pulls bone stock tuned on v3.. I'll bet with just free mods and v3 I could put a bone stock dsm into the 13's - it helps that much

ok i was looking over that stuff and realized im never gonna be able to learn all the stuf i need to know to be able to do it correctly i think i will do my exhuast when i get the money and if i decide to do anything else performance like i will do that stuff then take it some where to let a professional do it so i dont mess it up

If you want something quick and easy that would be the best choice. But I'd really start reading on how to tune. A lot of it is over complicated crap on the forum that you don't really need to do at first. Being stock you might squeeze out 1-5 more HP with a somewhat decent tune. But don't get me wrong later on it makes a world of difference to tune properly. Really good tunes however can make insane amounts of power though. Tuning is where all the power is made on our cars if you want to get serious I'd get reading.

You can start off simple with your tune and work your way up. Plus being stock if you mess up your tune you can always take off your battery and reset your ECU to be back to the stock tune.
