Should I tune it?

I have a 95 tsi with a 6bolt block,2g head, 1g cas, stock injectors, 14b turbo, small fmic, and 98 black box flashable ecu. So here is the question, the car runs fine as is but should it be tuned or is it fine how it is? I think it's set at like 12lb boost as well.

It probably wouldnt hurt to tune to and get the most out of your current setup.At 12lb on a 14b you are probably ok but you should at least get a wide band & logger and make shure that everything is ok.

Any idea on what would be best bang for my buck on a wide band and logger? I've seen palm loggers on here for like $50. Not gonna lie I have ZERO exp in this department,This is my first turbo car.

Yes, you will get gains from tuning even a stock car. My advice would be to go with an innovate mtx-l or lc1 for a wideband. If you do a search you can find the various advantages they have over the AEM uego. Since you have the black box reflashable ecu your best bet is going to be buying a tactrix 2.0 cable and using ECUFlash for tuning..

I would definitely go with the tactrix cable over a palm since you have flashable ecu.

Ok, so another question. Is it ok to buy them used or should I buy new? I'm thinking the mtx-1 and open port 2.0

The cable should be fine fine used, the wide band too but with the used sensor you may have to replace the sensor sooner than you would with a new sensor but the wide band controller and gauge should be ok.

Ok so I looked through classifieds and any find the wide band or open port 2.0. Anyone know someone selling them? I would just post a WTB buy still restricted. ( which sucks cause I have tons of parts ) if anyone has wb or 2.0 let me know.

I ended up buying an AEM Uego WB. Got it for a really good deal with less then 1k miles.

A tune is one of the best things you can do for your car... It's just very important that you make sure that you take your time and educate your self on what parts you need and things that need to be addressed before trying to do anything with your car.

Do it all right and it will pay off in the End.

At the very least you should get yourself a Tactrix cable and get a remote road tune. I always say no matter what you do, your car is not going to get the most out of your aftermarket parts until you get a tune

Yeah I was planning on tuning it. I have a friend in my town who I was going to ask to help me tune it, I just have to buy the cable first. Which I should be doing soon because I got the wife to agree to let me buy whatever I need......if I take her to Mexico win win for me.
