shoot for fastest stock turbo or go big turbo?

ok i am having a hard time deciding.. i have a 1991 galant vr4 with about every mod you can do to it besides turbo, i am just getting it running and cant decide if i want to be a sleeper with stock turbo and shoot for fastest stock turbo galant.. or go big tubo and runs 10's and break stuff all the time LOL..

what would you do i think it would be cooler to have fastest stock turbo maxed out over just another big turbo setup not maxed out.. i need help!!! :cry: and whats the fastest time stock turbo galant? from what i see if i can run 11.5 i should very well own the record.. and my car is full weight
 
Own what record. 14B has been in the 10s. Have you heard of Joe Bucci?

Anyways, I like your approach, not everyone has to jump on the big turbo bandwagon.
Its not worth it for everyone, some people like doing amazing things in a different way.
I.E. I am staying 16g and just going to eck everything I can out of it and not upgrade to a larger snail.

I think he was going for stock turbo gvr4 , not stock turbo in general.
 
I tried that this year....:p

Not really though. My 14b runs 12.3's... Which I think is pretty respectable..

Stock ecu-680's-maf-t.

I also had a 13g-stock auto turbo, run 13.3.....:sneaky:

But I'm goin big next year.
 
You can try to do the fast stock turbo thing, but either way you're going to break stuff. Once your car starts going SERIOUSLY fast stuff breaks, stock turbo or not.

I say keep the stock turbo on for now, and basically set your car up for the ability to accept a bigger snail. You can still put down some serious power with that stock turbo, then one day when you are sick of it, just take that blowdryer off and put on something with SERIOUS cfms!

You should update your profile so we can see what "every mod" is. We can let you know whether you really have "every mod" or not (no offense, but I doubt it). It's hard to make recommendations when we don't know whats done to your car.

Keep a small turbo on it. Do you have the turbo ported yet or not? Porting it along with the exhaust manifold will help quite a bit (or get a 7cm turbine housing and a good manifold).

So you have aftermarket cams and intake manifold?

buscher racing front mount
custom made aluminum driveshaft
thats just the basics i have wbo2 egt fpr ect..all that little stuff too and a buch of custom little tweek stuff i have done too

i just need more drive train mods.... and i dont wanna beat all the 14b's just all galants

I dont understand the cam selection unless it was a typo, but sounds good!
You should be able to get that car in the 11s as long as it doesnt weigh over 3000lbs. LOL

After you get thru messing around on the 14b, Id like to see what you could do with a little cheap Evo316g
(in which would give you MUCH more to enjoy in the small turbo land.)

Do you have pics of your custom drive shaft?
How do you like your Buschur racing fmic, I hear they are extremely efficient.
The higher compression will help you a lot in reaching your goals!:thumb:
 
stay with the stock turbo so me and ervin can smoke u

come on daniel you know you will never be faster then me.. you can go get you 30r or green turbo and ill still beat you :) i still got direct port 75shot waiting to go on my car too... oops i was not supposed to tell you that hahah dont tell ervin i dont want him bitchen when i smoke him:mad:

by the way i figure it i can run 11.5 with me in the car the car will weigh under 3300..

that cam selection was no typo LOL 272 intake cam 280 exhaust

ill get pics of the drive shaft when its done i have a local guy making it for 500$
