Okay guys i just started having this problem.when i put my car into reverse it goes in fine, but as im releasing the clutch and giving gas she starts to shake really bad. I checked the tranny bolts and they were good any clues?. And its a 1992 laser awd.6 bolt built with weisco and eagle with a comp ratio of 9:1, act 2100 with lightened flywheel and 1000 rc, dsm link is the tune.

I was having a very similar issue. Turned out my driver side cv axle was seperated at the inner joint.

Symptoms were worst when turning in reverse with clutch engaged only. Just fine with clutch pedal down. Could feel a slight vibration when going forward but really only noticable in reverse.

Hows it run when u get it up to speed? I had a similar problem, mine ended up being the passenger side axel's CV joint was busted. When I would speed up it would just get worse. Something that should definately be checked

How long ago was the motor built and put in?
When putting in my motor I missed having a transmission dowel alignment pin. This caused my tranny to be cocked just slightly enough to have the input shaft just slighty off. It caused bad shaking in reverse and also when downshifting and releasing the clutch pedal slowly.
If your motor mounts are good just putting in a set of prothane ones does not fix the problem and would make it more noticeable.

thanks for all the input guys, tomarow at work im going to put her up on the rak and check it out. the motor mounts look good except for the back one its got a crack i noticed today while looking at it. the motor itself was built just three months ago i had a timing belt mishap and destroyed 14 valves. she was running like a champ up until sat night. so check motor mounts and cv joints first you guys say.yes she drives great shifts like butter and pulls hard through the gears only in reverse as im disengaging the clutch and giving her gas.

Okay so i found out i had a bad control arm bushing, also would a bad clutch or pressure plate cause the tranny to try to push itself away from the block when pushing in the clutch.
