hey guys, just put the engine back in and tried starting it, its on jacks at the moment, but the thing is shaking REALLY bad on idle, then dies off, any ideas? it almost felt like it was going to jump off the jacks :/ could this be that the timing is not right? :( the belt was replaced

We do not bump here . Have a little patience and respect for the people who spend their free time here . As asked , Did you try anything different ? Or are you just wanting more possibilities ?

If you swaped out the belt and just the belt your cas won't be off and cause a miss fire .The only way your cas is going to off is if you ground it out from the harness and started playing with the cas .I would start from the bottom work your way up.

Also I would take the cover off of your timing belt crank it over by hand line up all of your marks .
Make sure they are all lined up .Also did you buy a new t-belt tensioner ?If not you could have jumped time as well .

how can i tell if the balance shaft is removed? im not sure if the place who had it before me did it or not really.. i just made sure the timing marks were all lined up and put the belt on :p

aight well ima pull the thing back out i guess and make sure its all good :(
ill keep everyone updated, thanks for the responses guys, much appreciated

ok guys, i took the belt off and the oil pump sprocket is definatly in time (i put at 12 oclock and let it spin backwords towards 9o clock) so not really sure what else could be causing this :(
any more ideas?

MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SPARK.. I have seen this happen a bunch of times.. and check for vacuum leaks all over the motor.. If its misfiring, then it will shake rather violently, and die.. Im almost sure its spark.. balance shafts will do it, but if you did your timing right and followed instructions, then that wont be the issue.. You DID take very special care when doing the timing, correct? :)

pull the sparkplugs and test for spark.. if you have spark, then check your wires to make sure they are seating down all the way on the plugs.. If you are sure that they are down all the way, then check your CAS for correct timing.. If that is good, check for vac leaks.. If all else fails, do a compression check and post the results here...

O yeah.. once your timing belt is on and you have started the motor, NEVER rotate the motor backwards.. It puts slack on the belt..

well, i have aftermarket HKS cam gears, and i CANNOT get them to line up in a straight line, anyone else use these cam gears?

isnt there already a new post about this? I thought we were talking about your motor shaking?

dont get off topic.. if its another issue, make another thread.. LOL

well my question is, would that cause this if they are even a tiny bit off? because the only way it wants to go on is a tooth off..

yes sorry, i just put two and two togethor and figured maybe that would be causing this serious shaking..
