like the title says....my car has been like this for about 2 months now and i really need to get this fixed because i am unable to drive it:confused: ive tried just about everything and i really dont trust any shops around here to get it fixed.
But anyways.. im able to start up the car just fine and it will idle perfect and run just fine "warming up".....i can rev it up a little bit and everything is great....but just as soon as i rev the engine past 3.5rpm's and once the rev's drops it like goes into this almost :limp mode: and will spit, sputter and only run on 2 cylinders and will continue to run like this and if i do not feather the gas it will stall out, this also is not even driving and building any boost, its just sitting in nuetral. Im NOT getting CEL either!! the things i have checked and replaced are!
-Injector resistor pack
-02 sensor
-coolant temp sensor
-swapped a ecu
-swapped power transistor
-swapped maf sensor
-i Re-Timed the t-belt cuz it was off a tooth
-swapped crank angle sensor
-cas i tested and cleaned
-swapped different 450's and FPR
-compression is ok
-all sensors are plugged in
If anybody can help me out that would be so much of help!! thanks in advance :thumb:

ok so i pull the turbo apart today and the compressor wheel looks just fine nothing unusual but then once i pull the exhaust housing off now that was a different story....the wheel blades are all banged and chipped up pretty bad, so def something made its way into the wheel and left a little evidance

Now i was thinkin from the start it was my compressor blade messed up but since it looks just fine im not sure what really its coming from. I checked my BOV that was fine, compressor wheel is ok, i mean what else is left? My worries is gettin everything back together and then boom something is still shooting in  Im going to take my buddies 2g smic and intake manifold just to insure cuz his are fine. GTM what would u think this stuff can be coming from? or were i should take a look?

I think it was 1 piece which maybe broke as it tried to pass an intake valve and part is in the intake manifold and part has already passed through to the exhaust. When you took the head off it jump out and dissappear, it may have fallen out of the intake ports or the intake manifold but you must shake, rattle, and roll every part until you are sure it's not there. If it were a spark plug ground you probably wouldn't hear it fall as you lifted the head off unless you knew to look in advance of removing parts.

It could be worse, the difference is he knew something was missing and ignored that warning.

Yes, you have every right to be on edge, perhaps you should have someone check your work thoroughly, manifold, hoses, filters, IC etc. before you close it all up. Certainly something could have fallen through the spark plug hole. BTW sometimes when some part too large to pass an intake valve will sit on top of the valve and hammer away at the port, this will leave marks in the port before it gets beat and made smaller to take a look. Once it gets past the exhaust it's in the exhaust and can't bother anything.

GTM

UPDATE.....so i bought a used head off a freind for 75 bucks, preped everything all up and nice, checked EVERYTHING POSSIBLE, my freind gave me his intake manifold and Smic to use also.

So i fire it up and it runs ok....shut it off start it back up and runs like CRAP!!!!...so i start it up again after waiting like 5 min and runs ok again. I let it idle for like 5 min and everything was cool...i rev the motor up and nothing went wrong, reved it again nothing happens, did it a bunch of times and still no problems, i then drove it around a few miles and it drove awsome like it should. i then shut it off when i pulled back into my driveway and my freind says start it back up and see if its good....so i start it back up and runs sorta ruff and then threw a CEL and stalled out! OMG

so i got the code reader out and this is what i pulled.....P0340 camshaft position sensor A-bank 1 circuit malfunction.
We cleared the code start it back up and sometimes it will run good sometimes ruff and sometimes if u let it idle itl just fix itself from running ruff to good again or just go back from wanting to fix itself to running bad...realy wierd

BUT as soon as u turn the car off and start it back up it will idle for maybe 5 seconds throw the CEL and then stall out right away.

I checked all of the connections didnt see anything loose, cam angle sensor is about a month old from the dealer, i tapped a wire going from the blue wire on the cas to the harness right at the ecu to make sure i have a good connection and didnt change anything. Im getting good voltage reading from the pos and Neg wires in the harness also i checked to make sure.

Im not super smart with electrical totally...but any help would help :D I feel as if im almost to my goal and thanks GTM and everybody else thats given helpfull input.

man, and i thought i had problems.. LOL.

good luck with everything, i just read most of this thread and it all sounds way too crazy. car works fine, then it doesn't... waaay too emotional LOL.

by the way, are you jjbrasil, are you brazilian? i'm half brazilian :thumb:

and if you got a code for the CPS, have you tried putting a new one in?

Yup i am brazilian :) im half also... my dad is from brazil and my mom is not. The only thing is that my Cam angle sensor is not easy to just take out because it is behind the intake camshaft sprocket so i will have to pull the T belt off again...so i want to make sure 100% it is a faulty sensor. And yes this has been the craziest adventure ive had with any dsm ive ever owned

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!! ITS FIXED!!!

I went and bought a 1g cas from a junkyard today....did the wiring like it says on rre and now everything is A ok...i guess the problem was the Cas being faulty! kinda wierd becuase its supposed to be new when i bought it from the dealer! ...thanks GTM so much and everybody else that helped along the way ROFL

You are welcome as always, it's people like you that make it fun and worthwhile. I remember the early days of frustration and not knowing, no place or person to turn to for help. We stuck it out because the spirit of mind over matter kept driving us on and this bucket of nuts and bolts ain't gonna get the best of me. :)

GTM

I am curious if the Dealer is going to refund your money for that CAS...

I am needing a new one myself for a 90 GSX NT. I got 3 different prices from Orilley's Advance and Autozone. The prices vary from $320 w/NO warranty to $370 w/Lifetime warranty or the dealer... And after reading about the Cas that the dealer sold you, I just don't know what to do. The 'Junkyard' CAS does not sound so bad anymore.

I am really glad you got your ride fixed, I have been following this thread and was curious what was going on.

Big Thanks to GTM for helping out on this site... :thumb:

It's nice to be able to consult real 'experts' when the problems get tough. I appreciate this site and ALL the people that help make it great! :thumb:

Nope the dealer wasnt going to refund me :notgood: so thats why i was like...ahh forget it and spent 35bucks and went ahead and tried the 1g cas which worked :) I did have to do that mod to the baro sensor but other then that everything works awsome!

The 95 cas is different then the 1g cas's and then 1g cas's are a lot more expensive new. i would def go to a junkyard if i were you and just buy one for cheap...plus they offered me a 30 day warranty at my junkyard :thumb:

man this is by far the most awesome thread i have ever read on this forum. the way you guys actually worked together and helped each other out unlike what i get most of the time with the flaming from other threads about i should know what i am doing and i posted in the wrong category or what not. and gtm i would like to get some advice from you about an issue i am having with my car if you wouldn't mind. that is if you are good with transmissions and the codes that it is throwing.

Contrary to popular belief I am not a DSM expert, cars in general probably yes. Thus your question re: auto transmission would best be placed in the auto tranny forum where you may find others who have more first hand experience with your specific needs. I may be able to contribute in some minuscule manner. My time on the forums will be limited by my 90 year old mother's needs with advanced stage 3 Alzheimer's.

Cheers,
GTM
